On Tuesday morning, the US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter was aksied a question about manufacturing to which he responding among other things referring to coal as cheap and clean energy option.

Kenyans of good will immediately corrected the Ambassador who remained adamant sticking to his guns including threatening one by using the words, ‘be careful’.

It should not be lost to Kenyans that the coal power plans in Lamu is very wasteful and should not be a choice in a country that has a lot of sunshine.

The findings of a study by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) shows that the Lamu Coal Power is not the best choice for Kenya.

The plant would lock the country into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) that would force electricity consumers to pay more than $9 billion, even if Lamu project doesn’t generate any power as long as it is available for dispatch.

This is pure daylight robbery.

Furthermore, coal is not the best bet in terms of human health.

Let’s take China for example; China has powered itself into prosperity using coal, but that has come with so much human cost.

In China, air pollution is killing over 1 million people and costing Chinese economy 267 billion yuan (US$38 billion) a year in the form of early deaths and lost food production, this is according to research conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Coal does not only affect the people in the vicinity, it has implications far and wide.

One more important thing is that, today, June 26th, 2019 from 2:30pm there will be a judgment on Lamu coal plant at the Supreme court. Lamu residents, environmentalists and activists went to court to oppose the construction of the coal plant.

Kenya doesn’t need a poisonous coal plant.

Yesterday, a breaking news from one of the local media stations stated that a court had ordered police to find Brina Bera, the 25 year old JKUAT student who ‘has gone missing’

In a quick turnaround, that is very suspicious and curious. Kilimani OCPD Michael Muchiri now says that Brian Bera is still in their custody at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) recuperating and will soon be charged.

We cannot establish the authenticity of the matter as police have not released new pictures showing him recuperating.

“We are still holding Brian Bera Kibet. He has recuperated and we are preparing to charge him,” Mr Muchiri said.

Kibet scaled the State House Nairobi wall and was shot in the shoulder by security guards.

The police boss told a local media house on phone that the other suspect who escaped bears a similar name.

Social Media users are demanding for the arrest of Starehe Member of Parliament Jaguar after his xenophobic remarks as jitters are reported in Tanzania over his remarks.

Tanzania’s Speaker of Parliament Job Ndugai ordered the Government to issue a statement on the safety of Tanzanians in Kenya following a statement by Starehe MP Mr Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar which has been deemed to be xenophobic.

The Kenyan government distanced itself, though it is suspect because Jaguar is still a free man, many hours after making the hate statements.

A video of the MP issuing the ultimatum went viral on Tuesday.

“The other day we saw Matiang’i claiming he had only deported six Chinese nationals yet we have hundreds in here. We are giving the government 24-hour ultimatum to deport them failure to which I will lead the locals in storming their shops and ejecting them,” Njagua said.

Although the singer-turned-politician was primarily angered by the presence of Chinese traders selling second hand clothes in Gikomba market, he expounded his statement to mean all foreigners.

“We are not talking about six Chinese nationals. We are talking of hundreds of foreigners who work here (Kenya). I give the government 24 hours to evict these foreigners lest I, being a representative of this area, go into their shops, beat them and send them all the way to the airport,” he said.

Two years ago, The controversial Kaparo-led National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) had the term of its commissioners extended by President Uhuru, a move legal experts term as illegal.

Apart from engaging in fearmongering and staging political arrests, the dubious commission has failed to hold the regime accountable on ethnic exclusion, which is among the key mandates of the commission, and which continue to cause the national fragmentation being witnessed with the country increasingly getting polarized along ethnic lines.

The commission always comes to life only when it is required to torment critics of the government through staged arrests and choreographed prosecutions.

Nations Media Group (NMG) to sack 30 percent of their staff soon due to difficult economic times that the Aga Khan owned media house is experiencing.

According to an insider, the city based media house has severally lowered its profit against the expectations from the executive board and owner.

The high cost of taxation and less profit has prompted the media house to embark on an initiative that will see 30% of her employees sent packing.

According to an anonymous source, the newspaper is the publication that has been giving some reasonable income compared to the highly flooded NTV.

In the past years the media house closed some of its radio stations including Q FM, and Easy FM

The state of insecurity in Malls, hospitals and other public places is appaling, many Kenyans can attest.

Most Kenyans that visit malls usually see the mediocre searches that are carried out by the poorly remunerated security companies personnel employed to ensure criminals and terrorists don’t access these facilities.

Usually, they search for cars using their eyes!

Well, must a mall or hotel be attacked by Al Shabaab in order for them to get serious? Personally, I don’t have a problem being searched by security officials for more than five minutes if that will nab some bad guys.

Well, this is not the first time we are being told that thugs are breaking into cars at Mpshah hospital. Usually, these thugs are attracted by cars whose owners leave valuables like phones and laptops. Galleria Mall on Langata road used to be notorious but the cases have declined after many people’s vehicles were broken into.

Yesterday at around 5, a thief took advantage of Kenyans that had gone to visit their sick loved ones and broke into their cars but one of them was nabbed. They were one lady and two gentlemen ,one of them was caught through assistance of members of public as he was running away

This is just an alert to Kenyans that your car and valuables are not safe in your car at the car parking so don’t entice the thief.

Always do this

1. Never leave your parking card in your car. A thief can break in and escape with your car. Keys can be forged!

2. Don’t leave valuables like laptops and phones in your car since they attract these crooks. If you have to leave them in your car ensure they are not visible.

I am a totally disappointed Iot.

Death took my Brother in 2014 at his prime age of 28 years leaving behind 7 month old daughter now 7 years old and a widow. He was a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) employee (an institution that you have severally exposed it’s rot)

Since 2014 the widow has not received his pension. We have been following up death gratuity and Pension deligently for this long.

First, it took 2 years for his file to be cleared with TSC so that it can be forwarded to The National Treasury for reimbursement.

I took over the matter after the widow made countless fruitless trips and every visit was accompanied by a mashrooming issue to delays payment, there’s a lot of to and from, the procedure is too long and tideous.

Most painful things is that since October 2018 their computer system has not been working in the name of ‘migrating to a new system’. A whole ministry that doesn’t see the need of informing the public by any means e.g press etc, for the public to avoid wasting their precious time coming to Nairobi due to that major technical hitch.

Thousands of innocent Kenyans usually travel from all corners of this country and flock Pension department at Bima house, National Treasury, Nairobi following their rightful dues with tears.

I thought our case was old but I was schocked to find another one on the Que following a case dating 2003. Really?

On 27th May 2019 I went to Bima house, Pension department here in Nairobi to make a follow-up but everything was status quo.

The only entertaining thing was a chorus from the receptionist who was now used to saying …….No System,we can not access your information,we cannot retrieve your file for processing….X1000).

Due to frustration i initiated a protest (a small revolution) to demand an address by management but we received a dumb ear that there was one to do so. We were told that they had left for a meeting the whole day, maybe we could go tryw meet Henry Rotich.

I think ‘No System’ is just a polite way of saying that the Treasury is unable to pay retired and deceased dependants it’s Pension.

It’s indeed a sad state of affairs. It seems the government is broke.

They have stolen everything.

Controversial “businessman” Paul Kobia has linked his arrest on Wednesday to 2022 politics.

Speaking to members of the press at his Nairobi residence that had been raided by sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kobia contended that the political establishment was anxious because he had announced his intentions to run for the presidency in 2022.

“What is making me and my people get arrested is because I have announced my intentions to run for the presidency in 2022. Because this country is riddled with corruption, they have heard I will be contesting the presidency and now they are worried. (Kile kinafanya nikuje kushikwa mimi na watu yangu ni kwa sababu nimetangaza kusimama upresident 2020. Kwa sababu hii nchi iko na ufisadi. wameskia nasimamama kiti ya urais wanaanza kubabaika, ” Kobia said.

Kobia was cut short as he spoke by one of the DCI officers and pushed inside the residence away from the press.

Media reports indicate that he was arrested over allegations made by a foreigner that the businessman duped him Sh70 million in purported gold trade.

A number of people were arrested alongside Kobia and are set to be arraigned in court today to answer to charges pressed against them by the DCI.

The DCI officers made away with a number of items from Kobia’s residence as evidence.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, found himself on the wrong end of hilarious jokes following his comments after he was teargassed on Wednesday.

Kuria was in visible discomfort as he addressed the police after several of the stinging teargas canisters had been launched in the area to disperse rowdy youth who were agitating for the release of the recently incarcerated Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar.

Country DHL Director Andrew Mutuma appeared in court yesterday after the court threatened to issue a warrant of arrest if he failed to appear in court, cnyakundi.com can report.

In the high profile case involving the Country DHL Director, he has been accused by the ex-wife of abducting their child, Children court in Nairobi had summoned him to appear in court in person yesterday on the 26th June 2019 and produce the child or face WARRANT OF ARREST.

Further reports also indicate that the crooked boss, who has also been linked to workers mistreatment at DHL is seeking ways to stop the editor of this site from covering his case.

He appeared in court with all his parents as they sought to give their child the moral support he needs.

Kenyans on social media trolled Majority leader Aden Duale for defending Safaricom Killer Director Sylvia Mulinge. Duale was speaking in parliament alleging that Tanzania was hostile to Kenyan professionals by denying them work permits. The MP went ahead giving Sylvia Mulinge as a classical example.

This did not go down well with many social media users who criticized him for being ‘behind news” pertaining to Sylvia Mulinge’s work permit Saga with Tanzania.

Sylvia Mulinge was denied a work permit due to her dark past and questionable Integrity.

A blunder by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions saw Safaricom Killer director Ms Sylvia Mulinge walk free with murder. But further sources have alluded that money must have changed hands because the way the ODPP wing handled the case in a very careless manner raises eyebrows.

The scandal involved a road crash that resulted to the death of a poor minor resident in the slums of Kibera adjacent to the Southern bypass in Nairobi caused by a sleek vehicle driven by a top Safaricom executive Sylvia Mulinge. The vehicle, a top of the range Toyota Prado KBU 483M has Safaricom Ltd registered as its legal owners.

Mrs Sylvia Wairimu Mulinge, rejected by Tanzania over integrity, was involved in the fatal accident allegedly caused by reckless driving resulting in the death of young Mary Kusa Etale who was a minor living with her parents in Kibera. Mrs Mulinge, in conspiracy with her bosses, then went ahead and kept the crash secret contrary to Vodafone’s strict Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policy.

Lawyers acting for the deceased wrote a protest letter to the Directorate of Public Prosecution highlighting the mishandling of the case of causing death by careless/dangerous driving. The letter was copied to the Inspector General of Police and the Independent Police Oversight Authority. The DPP investigations into the matter would held Sylvia Mulinge to account but what really happened?

The accident was itself a bold violation of a core section of Vodafone’s “Absolute Rules” on OHS which demands that employees must “never exceed speed limits or travel at speeds that are dangerous for the type of road, vehicle, or conditions”. Eyewitnesses claim Mrs Mulinge was speeding while overtaking a stationary truck at the time of the accident which happened in an area known as “Raila Village” which is known to have high pedestrian traffic. She was also drunk and staggering at the time.

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore appears to have secretly conspired with Mrs Mulinge to cover up the accident with the intention of protecting the exposure of Mrs Mulinge as a reckless/careless driver and move which amounts to a serious infringement of one of the core values for Vodafone PLC which, as part of its OHS, maintains a strict zero tolerance to loss of life or injury related to Vodafone operations or by any of its more than 100,000 employees worldwide.

The scandalous Safaricom top duo then went as far as attempting to bribe the parents of the deceased through an out of court settlement with a paltry offer Kenya shillings 950,000/- which betrayed the value they attached to the late Mary’s life.

To make matter worse, correspondence prepared by lawyers acting for the deceased family suggest Mrs Mulinge and Mr. Collymore of illegally influencing law enforcement officials to avoid thorough investigations as to the cause and circumstances of the fatal accident.

Despite all these details, the Killer director managed to bribe a Judge to scuttle the case after she went to court. Mulinge had moved to court in a bid to stop her arrest arguing that there was malice from the police to charge her for an offence that occurred in February 2015. Even stories on media were purged using Safaricom’s deep financial pockets.

The high court barred the police and DPP from arresting and prosecuting her, something that shocked Kenyans. Justice George Odunga prohibited the agencies from arresting or prosecuting Mulinge for the offence of causing the death of a minor by dangerous driving. In a judgement read on his behalf by Justice John Mativo, Odunga further ordered that Mulinge should not be charged at the Kibera law courts.

What raised eyebrows was the ODPP’s lack of ambition in prosecuting this case, despite mountains of evidence.

The Judge indicated that the status quo remains unless the police and DPP have satisfactory evidence that the circumstances have changed to warrant a review of the initial decision not to charge her, but these two agencies went mute revealing that Safaricom had used their deep financial powers to buy the system.

The Big question is ” How will the next powerful Safaricom Director know that driving drunk, overspeeding and killing minors has consequences? “

Daima Milk, a company owned by Sameer Agriculture and Livestock Limited that the Kenyatta Family has

In January 2019, this site highlighted the plight of workers at the Daima Milk Factory.

The information received indicated that employees were receiving their salaries near the middle of the month, around 10^th or 15^th of every month.

The working conditions are also not conducive for any normal human beings as exploitation, abuse and overworking were the order of the day.

Sometimes the delayed salaries are paid in half and the workers are promised that they will received the other half the next month.

The staff are overworked, in that, where a particular work is supposed to be undertaken by lets say 4 or 5 people, it is forced on two people.

Daima also fires staff without notice. One may come to work in the morning and be told that they have been fired. Someone with an ‘envelop’ has replaced you’, you are told.

When one works extra hours, they are not paid overtime.

To make the matters worse, these issues have been reported to Central Organsiation of Trade Unions (COTU) yet no action has been taken because the owners of these companies are connected.

COTU took bribes from the management of Daima and that was the end of that case.

The other issue we highlighted is Daima tried to cover up the death of a worker who was burned to death in a boiler at their factory in Nakuru County.

Professor Peter Mulwa Felix Mbithi was appointed the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi (UoN) in January 6th 2015 for a five-year term renewable once.

His fate for a second term was supposed to be decided yesterday (Wednesday, 26th, June, 2019) by the council at the UoN. But that has not yet come to pass.

The decision has not yet come to pass.

But in a country as corrupt as Kenya, he might as well get one because he has proved himself useful in the council of corrupt Kenyans that ‘will not hesitate to sell their mothers for a mess of pottage’.

This Vice Chancellor should have performed better but instead, standards at the UoN has deteriorated since he took over power from the current Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha.

Mbithi supported police brutality inside the institution in 2017 and has always blamed the students for his failures.

In 2017, the police were allowed to enter the university’s hallowed grounds, raped, beat and maimed some students.

He also doesn’t care if students from the University hurt, worse stoll when they are Luos.

Remember the case of former student leader Samuel OCS Ragira? Inhumane.

Students need a leader, not a coward licking the buttocks of the executive branch of government of Kenya.

He is a tribalist who has eaten the click bait of ethnicity that demonises members of the Luo community. After the upheavals of 2017, he expelled students for one tribe as the list attached below shows.

It cannot be easily established what this MF has done with money as recently it was reported in that the institution is broke to a tune of over Kshs. 5 billion.

The Auditor General’s report stated that UoN’s financial statement as at June 2018 reflects current liabilities of Sh5,724,377,000 while assets stand at Sh4,288,628 resulting in a negative working capital of Sh1,435,749,000.

During the period under review, Auditor General Edward Ouko noted in a report tabled in Parliament that the university was unable to meet its financial obligations.

In particular, Mr Ouko said that the university was unable to remit PAYE of Sh282 million, NSSF Sh3 million, NHIF Sh10 million, Chuna Sacco Sh204 million and HELB Sh1.5 billion.

‘Professor, the university does not value knowledge these days; it is easy today to get a venue for entertainment purposes than to get one for a public lecture or debate. Lecturers do not teach and yet we students are forced to do exams that we are hardly prepared for.’ the open letter to CS Magoha stated.

I am an evening student at UoN and we have been attending our classes at AmBank house.

Imagine a whole university hiring small rooms in AmBank, a building located just across University Way, yet there are hundreds of rooms lying idle at the main campus education building and others occupied by the Chinese at the Uon Towers.

Right now am in third year, but I have never received any results since first year yet I have cleared all the fees.

Someone must be sleeping on their job.

Huduma Namba registration was easy to role out in the diaspora, and now that that is over, Kenya, a country which you can liken to an abusive marriage immediately stepped up efforts to force Kenyans into taking e-Passports.

Many wondered what was it all about.

But typical of abusive marriages, one partner can decide to always shift the goal posts and make life a living hell for the other.

That is how shoddy Kenya is run.

One would think that the emphasis to register people for Huduma Namba or to give them e-Passports is pegged in efficiency in service delivery by the government of Kenya (GoK), but that is not usually the case.

If you doubt this, then ask the people who registered for Huduma Namba and are now looking to replace their passport to the electronic one.

Kenyans in New Zealand and Australia wrote a letter demanding to know how they will get their e-Passports and they received a half cooked letter back from the Kenyan High Commission (HC) in Canberra, Australia as seen below.

In their WhatsApp group, some had complained that they only received oral communications from some staff at the Kenyan HC in Canberra but didn’t believe and wanted a written and signed one.

‘The Canberra high commission says you can travel just for one way to Kenya but you have to get a e-passport to come back. Mark you this is oral information from someone who was in their office last week. No official written confirmation yet.’, she stated in the WhatsApp group

RE: LACK OF CLARITY ON THE MATTER OF EPASSPORTS FOR KENYANS LIVING IN AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND & THE PACIFIC REGION

Salutations!

We are in humble appreciation for the timely response the Office of the Kenyan High Commission in Canberra, Australia provided in a communique dated the 27th of June, 2019 in respect to our appeal for the establishment of an epassport processing centre to cater for the aforementioned Region.

We however feel rather unsatisfied with this communique on the following two specific grounds:

1. It took our personal effort to rally the Community to get a response from the High Commission regarding its intention to have the epassport centre hosted at its facility. There has been no advanced communication prior to this lobbying effort. We are therefore not assured that any communication on the subject will be readily availed to us without further probing from the affected members of the Kenyan Community in the Region.
2. That in as much as the High Commission has forthrightly indicated in the communique its lobbying and capacity to have the epassport processing services hosted at its facility, it was rather unclear on how it would place this request before the 1st September, 2019 anticipated directive from the Immigration Department in Nairobi. We are therefore unsure what to do for the next 2 months in anticipation of this directive. This is rather stressful.

We therefore seek for a more concise directive from Nairobi, through your kind Office, regarding our demand for an epassport centre to serve the Kenyan Diaspora in this region PRIOR to the August, 31st, 2019 deadline.

Doing this will put us at ease over questions raised in our original letter brought to your attention.

We therefore look forward to hearing directly from the Ministry of Immigration in this regard.
