This evening, an alleged leaked document from the Judiciary’s Chief Registrar to the institution’s Finance and Arbitration Fund’s Chief Officer has revealed that Chief Justice David Maraga’s wife Yucabeth Nyaboke demanded a Ksh. 13,550,000 allowance meant to facilitate her trips to Ontario, Canada and Dallas, Texas last year.

According to the letter signed by Chief Registrar Anne Atieno Amadi, Yucabeth, in the company of her husband Maraga, attended the Kenya Diaspora Conference held in the two cities between the 19th and 25th of May 2018.

The document’s authenticity is yet to be confirmed, but if it anything close to true, then it would mean that Maraga and his wife spent approximately Ksh. 2.6 million a day during their foreign trip; which would leave them both with many questions to answer.

On Sunday night, Kondele residents held a candle light vigil in solidarity with Sudanese citizens amid the ongoing massacre in the country.

Sudan’s military rulers have admitted that they ordered the “security operation” that led to the killing of at least 100 protesters last week.

Troops and government-backed militia groups moved into Khartoum, attacking protesters who were demanding a return to civilian rule, following the removal of former President Omar Al-Bashir.

In Kondele, police brutality isn’t something unfamiliar. Just recently, dozens of families were left traumatized following incidents of police rape, beatings and torture during the 2017 post-election violence.

Hospital staff and county government officials confirmed that at least 100 people, mostly men, were seriously injured in the beatings and shootings.

Many others did not go to seek treatment for fear of being further targeted or arrested.In fact, at least 92 people with serious injuries, including 3 women who said police raped them, had not sought any medical help.

So when the news that Sudanese citizens were undergoing similar situation hit the streets, members of the Kondele Community Social Justice Centre invited residents for a night vigil at the town’s main roundabout where they expressed their unwavering support for the North African nation.

Groppers in Japan are very incessant.

Gropping, in a sexual context, groping or fondling is touching another person in an unwelcome sexual way. The term generally has a negative connotation in many societies, and the activity may be considered sexual assault or otherwise unacceptable.

There’s a word for this kind of behaviour where women are harassed by men inside Japanese trains.

What is Chikan?
Any act of public molestation or offense, usually of a sexual nature, against unsuspecting victims. (Japan) A person, usually a man, who rubs against or gropes others, usually women, in crowds, often in trains, to attain sexual pleasure.

Police and authorities are having a hard time dealing with this crime.

Japan has a huge problem with sexual harassment on public transport. A recent viral video show a train passenger tackling a gropper; but women are often afraid to do anything about it.

Tokyo police fight the perverts through an app called ‘DigiPolice’ where victims of gropping can activate a voice that loudly shots ‘STOP IT’ or display a screen to discreetly show other passengers that reads, ‘there’s a molester, PLEASE HELP!’.

This social issue is very big and lots of people, mostly women have downloaded the app.

Last night the water came at midnight and by 7 am the water was gone yet in their so called rationing timetable, we are supposed to get water at 4pm till 8am.

LIt makes me wonder what those ‘educated’ people at Nairobi Water do?

Why do we have to ration water 56 years from independence?

With all their degrees, they have never thought of a solution to the water problem?

That is why I say Kenya is a country full of educated fools. Full of talk but can’t walk the talk.

On another development, I will support you for Lang’ata MP but please do not become a MPig. It is time that so called MP Nixon Korir was sent home.

The roads inside the estates are in a very pathetic state.

Good thing I never voted for him.

Instead of working for his constituents, nobody knows what he is doing. I have googled him and seen he was a model at some point. May be he went back to modelling and kutangatanga, who knows.

The MCA is also another one. I hear he is from the Somali community so maybe he is taking care of his community interests instead of working for the people who elected him.

A whole county with 2 vehicles for street lights but I see one of the vehicles every week in South B doing street light repairs but when they are called to South C it is just excuses all the time. A lady had even been told to buy the wires which she did but they never came.

NYS, the posterchild of corruption in recent years has had so many scandals unearthed within its ranks until they have become impervious to fear.

They just don’t care anymore.

To deal with such loose demons that have fled from the confines of reason that holds human beings above animals is a tough task.

Men and women who no longer feel the moral obligation to hold up a better society that can thrive for all, it is hard to deal with such as these.

You will agree that, though exams are overrated. In the current dispensation; a person who does exams must receive their results slip and ultimately their certificates.

It leaves a lot to be desired when our children are called for NYS recruitment with a promise of doing a Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) diploma.

I happen to know one who graduated on November 2018.

Exams came out but the graduates could not access their results because someone senior at NYS did not pay KNEC the fee required.

How can this be resolved? because these children cannot get jobs since they don’t have even a result slip.

In August 2018, the freshly appointed National Youth Service (NYS) Director General Matilda Sakwa during an interview with a local newspaper stated that there’ll be no scandal at NYS as long ashe was the DG and that if that happens, then she will take herself to prison.

“As long as I’m here, there will be no scandal. If it happens, you’ll ask me that day. You’ll find me at Lang’ata Women’s Prison”, she said.

We have not been paid from February last year (2018).

They have instructed their secretaries not to allow any part time / contracted lecturers to see them.

Imagine some of us don’t have other jobs. We rely on this job only.

There seems to have a collusion between the guys in the accounts and a senior person. They hide our claims and then keep telling us stories.

On the first week of May they cheated us that they took our vouchers to KCB bank for payment to cool our tempers. Up to now we have not received anything. Upon enquiring from KCB, they told us that the NYS accounts guys requested the money be returned to the “account”.

We can smell a rat.

The financial year is coming to an end . We have no hope of getting paid.

Some service men and women’s money meant for January to March attachment was also ‘eaten’.

They didn’t receive their cash on allegations of they have wrong bank account numbers.

NYS is a real mess and corruption zone.

On Monday morning there was panic across the country after a patient who exhibited suspected Ebola symptoms was admitted and immediately isolated at the Kericho County Referral Hospital.

The patient is believed to have been traveling to Nairobi from Malaba at the border between Kenya and the neighbouring Uganda, where several people have died following a recent outbreak of the Ebola disease.

Doctors say that blood samples from the patient have been sent to the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) in Nairobi for further analysis.

The preliminary test results are expected to be ready within the next 12 to 24 hours.

They also assured the public that the County Referral Hospital is capable and well equipped to ensure proper isolation of the patient and protection of other hospital users.

Following this new development, many curious Kenyans have been wondering what the dreaded virus is all about, how it spreads and safety precautions to take in case of an outbreak.

So, What is Ebola?

Ebola is a deadly disease caused by a virus. There are five strains, and four of them can make people sick. After entering the body, it kills cells, making some of them explode. It wrecks the immune system, causes heavy bleeding inside the body, and damages almost every organ.

The virus sounds scary, but it’s also rare. You can get it only from direct contact with an infected person’s body fluids.

How Do You Get Ebola?

Ebola isn’t as contagious as more common viruses like colds, influenza, or measles. How Is Ebola Treated?

There’s no cure for Ebola, though researchers are working on it. Treatment includes an experimental serum that destroys infected cells.

Doctors manage the symptoms of Ebola with: Fluids and electrolytes, oxygen, blood pressure medication, blood transfusions and treatment for other infections.

How Can You Prevent Ebola?

There’s no vaccine to prevent Ebola. The best way to avoid catching the disease is by not traveling to areas where the virus is found.

If you are in areas where Ebola is present, avoid contact with bats, monkeys, chimpanzees, and gorillas since these animals spread Ebola to people.

Health care workers can prevent infection by wearing masks, gloves, and goggles whenever they come into contact with people who may have Ebola.

The following happens between 1200 HRS and 1300 HRS, Saturday 15th June, 2019.

It was a normal weekend when a strange thing happened at Blue Springs Hotel just opposite Garden City Mall.

It was quite, professional and swift. It looked like a James Bond Movie, only that it was Kenya’s great men and women from the Anti – terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) at work.

The ATPU is a unit within Kenya’s National Police Service mandated to mitigate terrorism related cases in the country.

And boy, they have mitigated many that go silent. The media doesn’t report because of the sensitivity of the matter.

However, cnyakundi.com congratulates our valiant men and women.

Nearly two weeks ago, police in Bomet County impounded a lorry transporting explosives and detonators. It later turned out that the explosives and detonators were property of the Department of Mines and Geology.

The lorry was released after police confirmed that it was licensed to carry explosives.

The Happenings At Blue Springs

Undercover Police who had infiltrated the gang gave them up on Saturday between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. She had ensured that they carried no explosive lest they blew up the place when they knew their cover had been blown.

Police from the ATPU, came in as normal customers, everybody acted normally including the guards at the hotel, the managers and the waiters. Meanwhile, revelers were eating their meals without any worry.

Were it carried any other way, the plan would have backfired and who know what next.

Serving customers went on even as the arrests began. It was quiet.

Away from prying eyes of the public, a man of Somali origin was pinned down.

‘Where is the car?’the angry police shouted as he pointed his clocked pistol at the man’s head.

Immediately without warning, a man , possibly a terrorist run quickly out of the Blue Springs hotel.

The cop fired two rounds in the air, the man stopped and was arrested by other officers.

The one who was held down now knew that the pistol had some live rounds and decided to give away the car they had traveled in.

When the police opened the car boot, they unmasked a heavy machine gun with lots of rounds of ammunition.

Whispers from those in the know sated that the police had foiled a terror attack possibly planned for 16th June, 2019, Father’s Day at Garden City Mall.

The police then forcefully put the terror suspects into a waiting unmarked police car.

This is where some people started piecing what had happened together because the police were very stern and were signalling to private cars to park on the site. This was a serious business.

The next day, Garden City was full of people celebrating Father’s Day without much care.

The Kenya Police, elite Unit of well-trained men and women at the ATPU had once again saved the day.

Staff from the training institute are accuse the management of stealing their money since statutory deductions like PAYE, NHIF, NSSF etc are deducted from their pay but are not remitted to the relevant body.

Who is ‘eating’ their money?

As Kenyans were celebrating fathers day yesterday, one family in Nyeri County was grieving as their dad was no more.

61 year-old John Muchiri Mutahi was attacked and killed by his brothers as he worked in his farm in the morning.

He was beaten to death in broad daylight in front of his family members.

The videos attached below shows the kind of inhumane behavior that can make anyone cringe.

The tussle for land had been going on for some years now. The family of Muchiri owns the land in which the other two brothers and cousins also laid claim to.

So on this fateful day, as if by plan, they waited for him to get busy on the farm, then they stroke.

They attacked Muchiri using big sticks and beat him severely till he passed out.

He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The family and villagers were left in shock from what had happened.

It was a gut-wrenching scene.

To make matters worse, the two brothers who are retired police officers didn’t see any wrong not reporting the matter to the police.

The children of the deceased man have always lived in fear of their uncles and that’s why they have contacted the editor of this site to pass this message to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Boss George Kinoti.

Why did the police only arrest two and not all the seven attackers?

A heartbreaking video shows the man, leaning face forward near a barn, loosing consciousness as the killers walk around the compound assaulting the camera man.

I read your story about the University of Nairobi (UoN).

There is also an issue at UoN medical school where international students are being exploited.

The constitution of the university says that international students from other Africans countries outside the EAC shall pay no more than 20% of what the EAC students are paying.

All schools adhere to this except the medical school which charges international students $15000 a year.

The money is not even going to school as they don’t have any official documentation. It is just on the student portals.

The government says all non EAC Africans should pay between 20-30%.

This only affects the undergraduate in the college of health sciences.

The postgraduate who are doing masters only pay 30% more.

Frightening passenger video captured severe turbulence that sent a flight attendant and her drink cart into the ceiling during a flight from Pristina, Kosovo, to Basel, Switzerland, on Sunday.

The 30-second video showed the drinks from the flight attendant’s cart spill all over passengers and a lady appear to pray as the plane violently shakes. Some passengers said they were burned by the hot water that was thrown from the cart.

According to a spokesperson for EuroAirport, 10 passengers were dispatched to local hospitals in Basel and suffered minor injuries.

“The flight from Pristina with airline ALK experienced turbulence in the air around 20 minutes before landing,” a EuroAirport spokesperson told ABC News. “The pilot alerted handling agents so that the airport firemen were immediately on the scene when the plane arrived.”

ALK Airlines confirmed to ABC that they are aware of the cellphone video and that the turbulence was expected. The flight attendant was trying to “collect all drinks and full glasses from passengers” before the “downward impulse occurred,” the airline said.

U.S. carriers are generally required to have flight attendants sit if they believe turbulence is ahead, but ALK Airlines says the flight attendant from the video is still in “absolutely good health.”

A Kenya Airways (KQ) Flight KQ609 enroute to Nairobi from Mombasa had to abort mid air and return to Moi International Airport (MIA) in what KQ termed as a false mechanical fault alarm.

The incident happened on Monday 17th June, 2019.

The flight KQ609 had departed Mombasa at 5.45pm on Monday but was forced to return an hour later following “a fault in the aircraft’s warning system”.

In a statement KQ said the fault raised a false mechanical alarm, forcing the captain to take safety precautionary measures.

“After assessment, engineers declared the aircraft grounded,” the statement reads in part.

On board were 95 passengers, some whom had to spend the night in Mombasa, and five crew members.

“Some passengers were accommodated on subsequent flights KQ617 and KQ619 while those with connections beyond Nairobi have been given accommodation in Mombasa to travel tomorrow (Tuesday) to their final destination,” added the statement.

The attached was the fee structure agreed upon at the start of the year but now they are putting an additional Kshs. 10,000 for bus project as part of school fees which has never been communicated officially because they know the repercussions.

Parents have raised concerns that we are facing economic/financial challenges at the moment but seems they are landing on deaf ears as we are being threatened that our form four daughters will be sent home this Friday 21st June, 2019.

I write this mail with loads off pain in my heart.

What was once a great international Company is now on the road to complete destruction with heavy impunity.

In the recent past what has been witnessed borders on witchcraft at DHL.

There have been unprecedented layoffs and without justification. The HR Manager a Mr. Kaunda is completely inept. He has been reduced to a paper pusher without any strategic input into the future of the organisation. He doesn’t care about staff welfare and he is disconnected and aloof. When complaints go to him he receives them and dismisses them without any action.

Then the current Managing Director a Mr. Andrew Mutuma. He has made DHL his personal empire, from reconstructing the office to have his own toilet and bathroom to being completely dismissive of staff at DHL and their welfare. He is supposed to be the unifying figure but now just follows his own interests and those of his bosses.

Most of the senior personnel have no vision of the next 3 to 5 years other than the daily running up and down. For example there was a new customs program that was introduced that needed integration. This has caused the sky to fall on the heads of DHL staff. They report at 6 am and are in the office upto between 11pm and 1 am. Thats about 17 to 19 hours of straight working. How is this acceptable surely. They are even EXPECTED to work on weekends. Is this even consistent with our labour laws? Some of these workers are parents and no never see their kids. And the MD is at the forefront like a Pharoah ensuring the backlog is completed. If you dare complain or ask a question you are fired with the consent of HR.

Because of fear of losing their jobs, the workers just shut up and work like slaves. There is no overtime compensation or any form of recognition, no rest days if you work more hours.

Let the bigger and larger global DHL partners see what’s going on to poor citizens who love the organization but will now even move for half their salary.

Nyakundi please come to the aid of these poor workers. Please share this widely and let the Labour office come and investigate, there is no lie in this. Help us Nyakundi. We are suffering under DHL.

The masters of the universe, Twitter, have suspended popular user Sir Alexas as the purge on popular accounts that used to light up the KOT Platform continues.

According to a person close to the Twitter user, Sir Alexas’s account got a DMCA takedown, the easiest way to lose your Twitter account permanently nowadays.

Twitter’s DMCA takedown policy is very poor that a person can create a fake emai then report a video or picture you have posted claiming it is theres and being used in a way that it is not intended. That way, Twitter suspends you even without confirming if the person has rights. In most cases, sucha content might have been shared by multiple users but once you are the target, the purge will catch up with you.

Shockingly, some Twitter users calling themselves Twitter Side A started making jokes out of the suspension instead of condemning how Twitter is deplatforming individuals.

DePlatforming is evil and can end the career of microbloggers like Sir Alexas who only had Twitter as a platform. Our basic search confirmed that Sir Alexas was very active on Twitter only. As a serious social media user, you should have bigger platforms too instead of depending on one.

On June 8th, Twitter lifted the suspension of popular account @WanjikuRevolt, two months after suspending him after a malicious DMCA Report as we reported a few days ago by this blog.
