Troubled City Governor Mike Sonko: quickly losing grip of things at City Hall | Major General Abdalla Badi: slowly but surely taking charge of the city
If he had the option, Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko would definitely hit the erase button and get rid of what has been a disastrous last two years in his political career. From the head of the Castle under the sun to a man under massive pressure from his political detractors working round the clock to take away power that he worked so hard for.
Yesterday, the February 25 political deal to transfer four core functions of the Nairobi County Government to the national government hit another interesting turn after the Public Service Commission (PSC) through a notice summoned 6,052 county staff on Monday, April 6 and Tuesday 7th at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) for “documentation and collection of letters of secondment”.
Hitting back at the Abdallah Badi-led team, Sonko on Saturday asked county staff to ignore the directive, saying it violates a ban on public gatherings by President Uhuru Kenyatta through Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“They have totally disregarded the great risk they shall be exposing to these employees as the country battles with the COVID-19 pandemic that has so far claimed four (4) lives and infected over 100 people,” – NAIROBI GOVERNOR MIKE SONKO
In addition, Sonko accused unnamed individuals in the national government whom, he said, are out to selfishly gain following the new arrangement that saw him surrender some of his functions.

According to the Governor, Nairobi Metropolitan Services and the Public Service Commission has no current jurisdiction whatsoever over the employees of the Nairobi City County Government.
“A few overzealous individuals within the national government have been overtaken by excitement, and have chosen to break all known laws and the provisions of the Deed of Transfer, to pursue their narrow and myopic interests at the expense of the goodwill and good intentions held by the President and myself for the great people of Nairobi,” read the letter in part.
In addition, Governor Sonko has urged county employees to continue discharging their duties diligently as the process to harmonize the implementation of the Deed of Transfer is completed to ensure that “their welfare and concerns are well addressed.”
He also noted that the lack of coordination between officials from the national government and his administration risk jeopardizing effective service delivery to city residents.
Power wrangles
The directive by Sonko will definitely spark some tension between him and Major General Mohammed Badi given Sonko categorically stated that the new arrangement should not be construed to mean that his administration was dissolved.
He warned the officials from the national government whom he accused of constantly harassing the country employees to cease immediately maintaining that the lines of communication were clear.
Sonko has also advised the county staff to “ignore the threats allegedly issued by the PSC, on behalf of the NMS”, further stating that Nairobi “will not be governed by intimidation and threats that lack in legal standing”.

Yesterday, we reported that the former captain of the Mombasa Golf Club succumbed to coronavirus-related complications on Sunday morning.
All managers at Mitchel Cotts Mombasa have been sent for 14 days quarantine after having had meetings with Mark Mbua for the last 2 weeks.
Reports indicated he might have been exposed when playing golf with the Kilifi Deputy Governor, now in police custody. Mbua had no travel history.
Mark Mbua, 51, died at 5 am at the Coast General Hospital where he had been in isolation undergoing medical treatment, according to reports.
Mbua was the general manager in charge of terminals for logistics at Moi-Owned Mitchell Cotts. He went to the hospital on Monday, March 30.

Deputy President William Ruto’s controversial “state address” this morning received mixed reactions across the country on social media. While his supporters appreciated the sight of a man who had in recent days been victim to heavy criticism for going “missing” since the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus, others felt it was just a pointless, attention-seeking attempt at crawling out of the leadership’s shadow and remain relevant.
Since early March when the pandemic’s entry into Kenya was announced, Ruto had been missing from the public eye; completely missing in action during all COVID-19 related press briefings: a matter that didn’t sit very well with the Rift Valley King Ping’s political detractors who condemned him for “abandoning the nation” during this tough crisis.
In his highly anticipated but rather disappointing statement, the DP acknowledged that the virus has seriously impacted the lives of regular Kenyans, offering the examples of boda boda riders, mama mbogas, barbers and salons who were suddenly required to comply with a raft of new regulations.
Further echoing Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe’s words the last few days, he reiterated that the country did not need bombs or other weapons to combat the virus but, rather, all Kenyans to practice precautionary measures, reminding Kenyans that limited movement is recommended in the efforts to curb the spread of the virus, particularly calling for the partial lock-down in four counties to be taken seriously.
In a Twitter post made shortly after Ruto was done with his speech, political scientist and strategist Mutahi Ngunyi claimed that through reading William Ruto’s body language as the cameras glared at him, he paints the picture of a “combative” and “defiant” man, who in a rebellious move has “appointed himself CO-President”.

In his media briefing on Thursday, Ruto gave a lightweight response to questions over his apparent absence from Uhuru’s side.
Answering a journalist at his Karen residence, he pointed out that his absence from Uhuru’s addresses was due to safety and security reasons, further noting that this is the same reason why the Kenyan law prohibits the president and deputy president from traveling in the same aircraft, vehicle, and any other equipment.
“To facilitate social distance, many meetings in the government are now done via video and teleconferencing. To remind you, ask yourself why the President and his Deputy cannot travel in the same equipment (by law) at any one time. We consult regularly with the President and all Ministers involved in the management of this pandemic. That is the position of the Jubilee government.”

Kenya’s last two general elections exposed the dirty work done by foreign companies that collect personal data and use the same to propagate hate amongst Kenyans to advance a narrative. The narrative, is then used, to force a pre-determined outcome and justify violence on a target group without suffering consequences.
If you were of age in 2017, Cambridge Analytica definitely comes to mind. You’ll recall their hate messages that was used to divided the country right in the middle. During the last electioneering period, the nullification of the outcome and subsequent re-run that was boycotted by the opposition, there were reported numerous cases of police brutality. However, narratives of “thugs” dressed as police killing innocent Kenyans to paint the police as rogue got a lot more airwaves on mainstream media and trended on social media. The judiciary was branded as “wakora network” to discredit any anti government ruling, while individuals branded themselves as “system ya facts” to push the government’s side of the story and use state machinery to brand any opposing views as “fake news” with detrimental consequences to authors of opposing views irrespective of their credibility as journalists or media houses that could offer factual alternatives.
Kenyans went out of their way and exposed this backward behaviour that saw British courts jail certain individuals, thus, corroborating their allegations. This small victory was, however, not reciprocated by the government after the president went public to congratulate the police for a job well done.
Now, why am I bringing up this story? In the past couple of months, I have noticed a well calculated scheme by known Kenyan intellectuals and prominent politicians portraying Luos as “wan’goa reli” so who needs them? Cheap (which I interpreted based on the “wan’goa” reli slur, that their lives matter less), uncircumcised, Raila groupies etc. This open hatred, dehumanizing and ethnic profiling of an entire community is being normalized by both politicians especially in the Jubilee wing commonly known as tangatanga and a rising number of perceived intellectuals. Some of these intellectuals and whose sentiments can be found from public spapces they’ve appeared before, as well as their social media accounts include the likes of prof Edward Kisiangani, sc Ahmednasir Abdulahi, Dr. Boni Khalwale and their new entrant, Dr David Ndii who did not only call Luos cheap but went ahead to price their worth at Ksh 500 each.

Now the danger of normalizing this narrative is how it cheapens human life and makes it affordable to kill or eliminate such cheap beings. Considering a government that attaches monetary value on anything, why would a government spend billions on development where the people are cheap? What would stop a rogue government from killing 10 Luos worth ksh 5000 if those 10 Luos are standing between the government and what they really want? I mean, do you expect Jubilee government to feel guilty for brutally killing Chris Musando if one of the best economists in the world think he was worth ksh 500? Do you see the danger? Isn’t that the CA modus operandi? You see, my thoughts are that Cambridge Analytica will not come back as we know it, they will re-invent / upgrade themselves to something new. In fact, I’m of the opinion that they are currently using this target group to intentionally spread hate in advance as a harbinger for things to come.
History has taught us that once the government tames their “enemy”, they devour their children mercilessly because there will be no one to stop them. Open your eyes. Do not fall for this kind of hate. Reject these bigots. Do not celebrate them. For if we fall in this pit, we will all suffer, if not die.

I wish to request you to highlight a story on defiance of the government’s directive against social proximity of persons in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Traders from gachie, Ndenderu, city park market and sorrounding environs have converted Mutati road in highridge, Parklands (next to diamond plaza) into a temporary open-air market.
The vendors operate there from as early as 4am every Tuesday and Friday effectively inconveniencing motorists and residents alike.
The residents reported the matter to Nairobi City Inspectorate last Friday, but they only came to the site to collect bribes and left shortly thereafter.
Remember this is a public Access road in a residential area.
Inequality In Time of Coronavirus
A Twitter User recently observed the inequality of the lockdown during the age of coronavirus. He obsevwrd that as other areas in Kenya are forcefully shut down, Central Kenya continues to operate.
This includes its open air markets.
“In most of Thika Road, and most of Central Kenya counties, markets remain open both for farm produce and secondary goods. Same can be seen in areas outside central but where the main players in commerce are Mt. Kenya diaspora. This Mt. Kenya ‘economic caution’ is perhaps the reason the country remains still open despite all the ‘lockdown talk’. Pres. Uhuru has been very deliberate in avoiding hurried shutdown, which tallies with the general response by leaders of his Mt. Kenya region. When this is over, the resulting economic inequalities and poverty will most definitely follow the same pattern. Regions that shut down commerce with attendant highhandedness and arrogance will be more affected than regions that allowed a level of commerce to thrive”, he wrote.
Kenya’s inequality is schewed in favor of the tribe in power.

Several Kenyans are being tracked down by the Chinese police because they’re planning to go for help at the Kenyan embassy in Beijing tomorrow.
Several of them had police knocking at their doors last night and today, ata wengine wameshikwa, quarantined or their plans suppressed. The policemen have all their details including tel numbers and passport details as well.
Quite a good number of us have had a few calls from the Chinese police.
Our aim of going to the Kenyan embassy in Beijing is to get evacuated to our motherland Kenya.
We have faced racial discrimination, evicted from our apartments, forced quarantine from our homes and even some saying we (Africans) are the Covid-19 carriers.
I have heard reports that the embassy is now surrounded by policemen.
Many Kenyans at home have called on the government to evacuate their sisters and brothers that are stuck in China but months have passed and the Kenyan government is still adamant and indifferent to those calls.
A document allegedly sent from the Kenyan Embassy to Kenyans living in China is even more chilling.
The document shows that the more than 3000 Kenyans residing either for work or school in China are on their own. It states that the embassy of Kenya in Beijing is aware that some Kenyans have planned to protest at the Embassy calling for evacuation.

The embassy warns that those planning to do so were violating the laws of China and would be dealt with thus.
Instead of offering solutions, the document reiterates that diabolic and uncaring statement by Kamau Macharia. Besides the current problem is spread across the globe and it would not be feasible to undertake an evacuation exercise of global magnitude. Therefore, we would like to advise you to desist from such planned protests, until the situation in the globe normalize and people can travel to destination of their choice”.

The Directorate Of Criminal Investigations yesterday summoned the MMC Asafo law firm managing partners over links to a multimillion corruption scandal at the National Hospital Insurance Firm( NHIF), we can confirm.
The partners appeared at the Directorate of Criminal investigations today at 9 PM to shed more light on the multimillion scandal that saw the national insurer lose millions due to the greed of Hannah Mureithi, the NHIF board’s chair.
Hannah Mureithi may soon face arrest for irregularly influencing lucrative and single-sourced contracts to controversial Nairobi law-firm MMC Asafo.
A few months ago, When Hannah Muriithi learnt DCI sleuths had visited NHIF and confiscated files, she flew into a panic and started making calls to influence the investigation and evade possible arrest.
The corrupt Hannah Muriithi last year approved a payment of Sh500 million to be made to MMC Asafo Law ostensibly for “reviewing of contracts” a matter that is now subject of an investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
A DCI source that spoke to this blog confirmed to us that the NHIF Chair will also be summoned to shade more light on the scandal.
MMC Asafo is not new to scandals. The law firm was recently dragged into a Safaricom suit by a petitioner seeking a Sh115Trillion settlement for client’s data breach.

In a country where personal ambitions override the rational human instinct of good for the survival of the many leading to primitive accumulation that is myopic even about the dangerous paths it is taking, will the Mwananchi Gas Yetu Project ever be realised?
At the start of the year 2020, the government of Kenya (GoK) having failed in its first attempt at the Sh3 billion project to replace the use of dangerous firewood as a source of energy and cooking for many households in Kenya especially those in the rural areas, it advertised the tender for monitoring the safety of the six-kilogramme Gas Yetu cylinders.
In its first attempt, the money had ended up in the pockets of the corrupt few.
The decision by two senior state officials to cut a deal with a company teetering on the brink of bankruptcy led to the uneventful collapse of a project that would have seen millions of homes supplied with cheap cooking gas.
The programme which was launched in October 2016 had seen Rupesh K. Sinha’s firm Allied East Africa Ltd (AEAL) given the tender which was forced to be shelved temporarily in 2018 after many thousands of cylinders were found to be faulty and therefore dangerous for use.
The sh3 billion project was meant to safeguard the poor from respiratory diseases caused by the use of firewood for cooking.
Other sources claim the programme run into funding problems and at some point, the programme was thought to have been given to the private sector to run, which is kinda.
In its grand Project Mwananchi, the government was to buy five million gas cylinders by the end of 2019, fill them with gas and distribute them to the low and middle-income households at a reduced cost of Ksh2,000 ($20). The fee covers cylinder, burner, grill and gas.
The cost of refilling gas was put at Sh840 owing to the high number of users that it would generate, from the current Sh1000 or so.
When the project was temporarily stopped in 2018, the 67,251 faulty cylinders attracted the attention of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who launched investigations into a what was then termed a malpractice.
The Petroleum Ministry and the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (Nock) were the targets of DCI. NOCK had even bigger problems from a series of multi-million scandals.
It is true that the Petroleum Ministry cancelled two other tenders to procure close to 700,000 cylinders, citing lack of funds. The initial tender for the purchase of 357,000 gas cylinders was valued at Ksh778 million.
When the tender was live, two banks I&M and ABC were locked in a bitter fight for control of Allied East Africa whom they claimed to have advanced loans totalling more than Sh1.3 billion.
Allied East Africa was said to owe I&M Bank Sh1.295 billion, while ABC Bank loaned the company Sh60 million. The case is confusing and seemed to be pegged on some dubious claims by the two, whoever is right even as the court will decide stood to gain from the 3 billion project.

As the govt advertised a new tender for the project at the beginning of this year, last week, Petroleum Cabinet Secretary John Munyes was grilled about the stalled project, he admitted that the Mwananchi Gas Yetu project had run into problem immediately after it was launched and that the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) had sued; taken the matter to court.
“I admit from the word go that the quality of the cylinders was in question and that was why the matter ended up in court,” the Cabinet secretary said.
Munyes who was accompanied by the CEO of NOCK Morintat Leparan told the told the Senate Energy Committee that the ministry procured 357,355 6kg cylinders during the 2017-18 financial year. Out of these, 200, 257 were supplied.
In 2018, PS Kamau had admitted that the process of repairing the faulty cylinders would take long since the trucks can only manage 500 cylinders per load.
Munyes and Leparan disclosure drew a barrage of questions from the senators who demanded to know why the ministry spent millions of taxpayers’ money to procure defective and dangerous cylinders.
What is now clear is that Allied East Africa which was also being sought by First Community Bank for defaulting on its loan and wanted to list it on Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) might not be coming back anytime now.
PS Kamau insists the GoK didn’t lose any money as the faulty cylinders will be replaced.

Weeks after he was forcefully kicked out of the Chairmanship of the powerful Senate County Public Accounts and Investments Committee, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who previously appeared to be on his way out of the ODM Party, has proven his critics right by curling back down under Raila Odinga’s powerful political wings.
On Tuesday morning, the outspoken lawmaker led a delegation of the members of the Maasai community into a meeting with the former Prime Minister at his Karen Home.
ODM had questioned Senator Ledama’s loyalty and accused him of secretly aligning his allegiance to the besieged Deputy President William Ruto and as a result, sabotaging the party’s plans to have Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri take up the prestigious responsibility to oversee the powerful committee.
After the relationship between the party and Ledama turned sour, he was kicked out from the House Business Committee and from the CPAIC where he had just been elected.
Consequently, Ledama accused the party of being undemocratic and arrogantly warned its officials, including party leader Raila Odinga that he is a “wrong number” to joke around with.
However, during the last Friday’s Senate session that sealed the fate of Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki as House Deputy Speaker, Ledama declared that he is only loyal to ODM and its boss Raila Odinga.
“If my party chooses to de-whip me because it perceives me as disloyal, it does not matter how badly I fight it, the only thing I can do is to convince them that I’m loyal and fight for what is mine from within. However, as a house we may need to define the difference party loyalty and meritocracy but for Kindiki, it boils down to loyalty. I want to assure my party leader that despite the rumours you are getting, I’m loyal to the ODM,”SENATOR LEDAMA OLE KINA SAID.
Following the completion of the meeting, Raila announced through social media that he had forgiven Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina for challenging the party position on the constitution of Senate committees.
He added that as a result, he has instructed the party to reverse its former decision to dewhip the rebellious Senator.

Unmasking Grace: The lady that abandoned her kids, duped court into giving them to her
Grace Wacera Githenji, Inoro TV marketer. She is the lady whose kids rejected her on TV recently.
Everyone is now conversant with the story of three little kids, beautiful as they are saying in unison, ‘Huyo sio mama yetu, anaitwa Grace’ (that is not our mother, her name is Grace).
For those who don’t know this story, let me bring you up to speed; five days ago, Nation Media Group (NMG) uploaded a video on their YouTube channel about a man whose wife abandoned their children and was now awarded custody of them, but the kids didn’t want anything to do with the mother and so the man was going back to the court to tell the magistrate that the kids refused to go with their mother.
This article is the story of one Grace Wacera Githenji, the Inooro TV marketing staff who abandoned her children not once, not twice but five times then went to the media to help cover her tracks and the magistrate bit her lies hook, line and sinker and awarded her custody of their three kids.
Cnyakundi.com dives to great depths to bring you the truth where others dare not. Our journey first takes us to Kiambu Law Courts, where we get the file for the case. The file number is 21/2019. This article took great effort to read the case file and tries, as usual, to piece together the details of the life of mysterious lady, unmasking her as one interested, not in the welfare of her kids, but other things.
In 2007, Joseph Murimi Wanjohi a young man straight out of university married the only love of his life Grace Wacera, whom she has waited for for all those years. Murimi had beaten the temptations of campus to remain chaste as per his Christian upbringing and has never had any other girl before. They married and had their first born child, a son.

Immediately, Grace’s family started rocking their marriage but they bore the storm till around March 2015, now with two kids, both sons, Grace’s family initiated her to leave Murimi (stay with me, you’ll understand later, why she likes abandoning her kids)
The cracks had started to show immediately after they got married in 2007, Joseph had ignored it. Turns out that Grace was a person given to not staying at one place, she run away from home and stayed away for two weeks. Our research, according to the contents of file number 21/2019 at Kiambu Law Courts shows that despite her wayward behaviours of abandoning them, Murimi still loved Grace and took great care of her.
The events of March 2015 shook the foundations of Murimi’s beliefs but there was more crazy stuff to come. In that March 2015, Grace’s parents and siblings came to Murimi’s house, collected all her belonging, plus the two boys and headed for Nyeri. They were, for no apparent reason, taking their daughter home. Grace, a crooked and cruel person, from our analysis, had fed them with lies about her life.
Murimi had not beaten her, she was not sleeping hungry, in fact, she had all the trappings of success, such as those that can be provided by an industrious young man. Joseph was a very hardworking man and lived comfortably in a big house with his wife. However, the politics of young marriages, where relatives often consider a man not worthy of their daughter, had taken a toll in their marriage.
Grace, her dad and family took everything from Joseph Murimi.
One and half weeks went by and Joseph could not stand the longing for his two young boys. Feeling that he couldn’t live one more second without his kids, Joseph left work in a hurry and drove unplanned to Nyeri where he went straight to Grace’s rural home.
He asked to see the kids but their grand mum refused, and told him to wait for the grand dad to come or rather to ask the Grace’s dad. The kids, who were playing inside the house, had caught the sounds of the conversation outside and run heartily and hugged their dad. Clinging onto him, their lives depended on it.
Joseph later learnt that Grace had left for Nairobi as soon as she had dropped the school-going kids at her parent’s rural home in Nyeri.
The sorry state of the kids, having been abandoned by their mother, pained Joseph and he decided that since they needed to go to school, he will not let them spend any more hour in Nyeri. He took them to his car, both boys clung to him as their grandma attempted to stop Joseph from taking them.
Joseph was determined that the kids needed to be in school. On reaching Nairobi, he used over Sh165,000 to purchase new clothes, school uniform, books for the boys.
Choosing the straight and narrow is better choosing money. Grace chose money, she is trying to get that and abandon the kids once more
Suddenly from nowhere, on May 2015, Grace came back to their matrimonial home.
The signs of gold-digging started showing at this point as Grace immediately asked for a holiday to Mombasa. Joseph, still madly in love with his first love, agreed to a holiday but in Naivasha instead, so as to sort out the issues in their now 8-year-old marriage. When they came back from Naivasha, they took their two boys whom they had left with Joseph’s sister and headed for another holiday as a family in Mombasa.
Lies and hell
On her Facebook page, Grace Wacera Githenji goes by the name Sandy Neema, she has a post of her kids who am not going to post here, in a carefully cropped out picture she lied to the court that she took them on holiday abroad. (Until yesterday evening, Grace Facebook page Sandy Neema was up, it has since been taken down)
The year 2016 came and it was in the month of April when having believed that Grace had changed her ways, the ever loving husband bought a car dedicated to Grace as a surprise gift for baby shower, they were expecting their third born child.
Grace later delivered a bouncing baby girl.
Though a baby girl was their dream; a bond that would keep them together as per their secretly renewed vow, Grace strangely didn’t sleep in their matrimonial bed, after she came home from hospital, for 6 months. She had asked to use the guest bedroom as she wanted time alone to heal from the fatigue and ravages of giving birth.
A storm was brewing again, and it reared its ugly head in November 2016, when Grace abruptly left the kids once again. She was caught by her husband packing to leave the house. The reach and toxicity of here relatives was too much and she wanted to leave her home again, or so we believe.
Not really. What happened is that beneath the beauty and tenderness of the lady that sells you adveritising space at Inooro TV, lies a soul that thinks she is God’s gift to men. Grace was full of herself and a string of powerful and not so powerful boyfriends were drawing her away from her marriage. It seemed there was someone more important and loved more that Joseph. (This we learnt from asking around, whispers in the media fraternity)
Our moles in the media houses confirm that she uses her beauty to command all fisis under her feet.
After leaving her house, Grace then proceeded to Kasarani Children Office to invoke the law so that she can be given her two boys. The boys refused and instead of going back home, Grace abandoned them. Joseph took the car keys and tried to ask Grace to stay but she refused.
Joseph came back from work one day to a house with all doors open. Broken into.
Acording to court documents seen by Cnyakundi.com, on 28th Dec, 2016, Grace returned home. Joseph officially took her back on New year 2017.
“2017 was hell”
The kids now grown and able to discern that their mother was not a loving person, casue she wasn’t present all the time, had to be talked to for hours to accept her back in the house.
Grace came back and made more open her infidelity, the car that her husband had bought for the family which was mostly driven by Grace was the new horse which could transport her to her many sexcapades and bring her back home late into the night.
When she came home from her randy endeavors she didn’t accept to be questioned.
‘2017 was hell’ for Joseph Murimi Wanjohi even as revealed by discerning the contents of the court documents. It is that year that he learnt of his spouses many string of boyfriends. Some of whom were open with it.
Greed and merrymaking made her lose her way. Now she is not even interested in the kids, she is interested in money
Living with a reverend
In 2018, Joseph got an assignment in Nakuru. As soon as he left for the Rift Valley county and immediately Grace Wacera Githenji alias Sandy Neema packed her belongings and abandoned the kids a third time.
Joseph was informed 3 weeks later that she has been chased away by the boyfriend and went to live with a man of God, a Reverend in Utawala, known both to them.
Accompanying Grace in Utawala was their third born child. A girl.
The little girl is said to have become very thin and wore tattered clothes and cried all the time.
It was a pitiful sight for Joseph, because he decided he was going to take the child back with him to his home.
It was clear in my research that Grace is not interested in the kids, not interested in their welfare. She wants the kids so that she can siphon money from Joseph.
During her stay with the Reverend, Grace had for reasons known to her made the Reverend want to give her money to go rent her own place. Imagine someone abandoning her kids and house, goes to live elsewhere where she can meet her string of boyfriend’s without care and do as she wished, a married woman!
Joseph had asked her to come home but she refused and so funded the finalizing of an incomplete house on the Reverend’s compound where Grace and his last born could live instead of renting a house away from the place. Our source says the cost was between Sh20k and Sh45k.
When he took the baby back home with him, Joseph had asked Grace to come back s second time. She refused. Abandoning the kids, a fourth time.
Grace instead went to Kiamombi Police Station to report a kidnap.
It is not that even when Grace was home, that things got better; Joseph had learnt to fend and take care; personal care of his three kids including feeding, bathing and clothing the little girl.
For a lady that abandons her home, her children and her husband to enjoy the emptiness of life with her male friends, Grace’s life is a mystery until when one of her case was proven weak in court and then her true intentions were unmasked.
Grace had reappeared in July 2018, took her documents from the house and disappeared into the night; once more abandoning the kids a fifth time. She didn’t even care about the little girl anymore, because as it turned out, when she went away, she often abandoned her child wherever she had said she was staying and fly away into parties and merry-making.
In that July, her manner of leaving was very peculiar. It shocked Joseph to the core.
Fast-forward to Dec 2018, Grace’s dad gave in to pressures of negotiations with their son-in-law and their family to his home in Nyeri. They were later chased away and that is when it dawned on Joseph, who had organized an expensive trip to Dubai to renew their vows and have Grace bond with the kids, was over.
Since he had booked, he went alone with the kids.

This is where it gets interesting, Grace filed a case seeking custody of the kids. She had a plan in mind, mostly pushed by the advice of her drunk and ever partying friends.
Personally, I remember my uncle once told me that “mtu was pombe na sigara hawezi lea watu”, it was true in Grace live.
Grace’s plans were now taking shape as she first demanded the court give her custody of the kids before the case proceeds.
As the court documents show in exchange for love, care and affection for her three kids, three qualities that were seriously lacking in her persona, Grace wanted over Sh7 million per year from a Jua Kali hardworking young man.
Broken down, according to court documents, Sh440k per month, Sh200k per child during holidays (total Sh600K multiply by 3 holidays in a year it comes to Sh1.8 million), Sh250k per year for insurance, additional money for school fees for all children, medical insurance. Additionally, she wants her estranged husband to meet the costs of the suit and also to be awarded any other monies the court may deem fit.
The court had earlier declined and gave the father custody of the kids; Grace then went back and demanded to be awarded Sh50k each time she spends with the kids, but Joseph did not challenge this, however, Grace did not also come for the kids. She disappeared. Abandoned them.
It was clear in my research that Grace is not interested in the kids, not interested in their welfare. She wants the kids so that she can siphon money from Joseph. This is why she’s been abandoning them. Children are not like potatoes to be bought from the market. Grace wa Inooro, as the kids referred to her on TV drink up to late hours in the morning and comes back home at between midnight and 2 am. He favorite club as per our research and the ever-reliable moles in media circles is 7D club in Kahawa West. She’s a heavy drinker, she drinks with her boyfriends.
The new drama that spilt into our TV screens was brought by a case filed at the Kiambu law courts on 7th May 2020.
Grace wanted the kids, the court allowed, he was supposed to take them, and she chose, of all places to TRM Mall.
Joseph has earlier informed the kids that dad’s hands were tied and that they needed to accept to live with their mom.
Joseph presented them to be taken by their mom, the rest is a back story that had not been told why they refused to go with their mom.

Yesterday, during the Madaraka day celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta carelessly talked about changing the constitution.
“It is a living document. And if certain elements of the Constitution outlive their historical purpose, they become a cancer. They must be removed or they will infect the good elements of the mother law,” Uhuru said at the state celebration
By changing the constitution, Uhuru Kenyatta just like Moi before him, wants to succeed himself. Kenyans must not allow it to happen.
For a govt that has more than 20 times called court orders, ‘pieces of paper’, it didn’t come as a surprise. The words of the Litigation Director for Open Society Justice Initiative, Waikwa Wanyoike against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) are still fresh and I’d like to share them now: Waikwa shared his words through a Twitter thread two years ago
This is why the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) by Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta is an illegal and unconstitutional outfit – a thread.
It is established without any legal authority – The President must always exercise that power under known legal authority. In Gazette Notice 5154 the President does not cite the legal authority under which he is establishing BBI because there is none.
2. Parliament has never passed a law or even deliberated on a motion to establish BBI. Without an enabling constitutional or statutory framework, BBI is anchored on an illegality. Gazette Notice alone is not enough.
3. Moreover, BBI’s aim, we are told, is to “outline the policy, administrative reform proposals” which Raila Odinga has interpreted to mean constitutional changes through referendum. Yet BBI or its work, is not aligned to the mandatory framework on const amendments – Art. 255-257.
4. Articles 255-257 of the Constitution have no room or do not authorize an amorphous and public money gobbling vehicle such as BBI to facilitate constitutional change process. That is the work of parliament and IEBC (assuming there is one in place)
5. BBI is not a popular initiative. It is a political subterfuge vehicle to divert Kenyans focus from the real issue: an economy buckling under the weight of plunder, sheer incompetence & cluelessness on how to govern a country.
6.If in fact genuine efforts to amend the constitution will be initiated later, Kenyans will be out of pocket twi e – by funding the illegal consultation process that BBI is engaging in then funding the genuine consultation process required by Articles 255-257. Yet we are broke!
7. BBI is duplicitous & steals powers of other legal agencies. Ostensibly the bridges in BBI are for cohesion. Why should Kenyans pay Haji, Wako et al to do what we are already paying Kaparo to do? Should we even be paying Kaparo in the first

The USA burst into protests after the killing of George Floyd, an African American man who was in police custody.
Floyd was arrested by an officer who included Derek Chauvin who went on to murder him by stepping on his neck with his knees in the full glare of the cameras 7 days ago. A few days later peaceful protests began in the USA.
The protests have now turned violent, leading to US President Donald Trump christening the protestors thugs.

Two disabled octogenarians are latest victims of forceful eviction and land grab in Kisii County.
The piece of land in Riatwenya, Nyatieko location which belongs to them has been taken up for construction of a Police Station.
The sham public participation that was done by the are Chief named Juma and the area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Vincent Gitomi Ochoki is threatening to rip-off the old Kenyans.
A source that spoke to cnyakundi.com said that the two acquired land about 10 years ago and got the valid title deeds as the owners of the land.
Recently, after the public participation was done, it was decided that Nyatieko Police Station be built on it.
It was a sham public participation reeking of impunity and corruption of the highest order, meant to take away land from vulnerable people.
“The illegal public participation was done, and they decided to go ahead with the construction of a police station, where will my poor grandparents who are rightful owners of the land go to??? why does the government want to forcefully evict them and build a police post without their consent or giving them any form of compensation??”, a devastated grandchild said

Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi successfully challenged section 85D of the Kenya Information Communication Act (KICA) in July 2019.
The law which penalised sharing obscene materials/vulgar materials in electronic form about a person was declared unconstitutional by Lady Justice Wilfrida Okwany.
The High Court judge while delivering her ruling in 2019, for a case he blogger filed in April 2018, said that that law is vague and broad, making it hard for accused persons to defend themselves. She further said the section was against Article 33 on freedom of expression and Article 25 (C) on the right to fair trial.
“The section is unconstitutional in so far as it suppresses freedom of expression and denies and accused right to fair trial through ambiguity. It is vague. The law creating a criminal offence must be clear. The section is retrogressive to an open, modern and democratic society,” she ruled.
Section 84D of KICA Act reads;
Any person who publishes or transmits or causes to be published in electronic form, any material which is lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest and its effect is such as to tend to deprave and corrupt persons who are likely, having regard to all relevant circumstances, to read, see or hear the matter contained or embodied therein, shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand shillings or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or both.
Blogger Nyakundi challenged that law, as he was facing several charges after posting obscene information against Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru last year. He was also facing similar charges before a Nairobi court, after posting remarks on his Twitter account, against Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and former Kenya Power MD Ken Tarus.
The Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime Act became law again in early 2020 in February after Judge James Makau revoked the suspension of some 26 sections which were suspended in May 2018. To be clear, Justice Makau had lifted suspension on sections that were suspended by Justice George Odunga.
The Act was then used to harass Bloggers Robert Alai and Cyprian Nyakundi over posts they made about coronavirus in March.
This is when it struck blogger Nyakundi that he needed to move to court again. Blogger Nyakundi on his Facebook posts promised to go back to court to have the law overturned so that Kenyans can enjoy the freedom of speech and ‘to save upcoming bloggers.
Law Society of Kenya (LSK)
The LSK has moved to court to appeal Justice Makau’s orders on Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.
In the civil application 102 of 2020, LSK told the court they are concerned that section 22 and 23 of the Act particularly limits freedom of speech and expression of the applicant and the citizenry of Kenya at large by the use of broad and vaguely worded offences that the government can wield to arrest, investigate and imprison its critics and dissenting voices on Covid-19.
The civil application 102 of 2020 dated 20th April 2020 seeks to conservatory orders be issued suspending the enforcement of Sections 5, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 & 53 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act, 2018. In the alternative, the Applicant seeks conservatory orders suspending the enforcement of Section 22 (False publication) and Section 23 (Publication of false information) of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act, 2018 (‘hereinafter the
Act’) pending the hearing and determination do the intended Appeal.
This Act ladies and gentlemen, especially YOUTHS seeks to even criminalise Cybersquatting. Where can we, after being oppressed and denied a chance to work due to deliberate bad policies and collapsing of the economy are we supposed to get money?
The arrest and prosecution under such draconian law must be resisted by Kenyans. The media had celebrated when the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime law was brought back saying that it will now ‘teach bloggers a lesson’, not knowing that they too will be crushed under the boots of the dictator.
Though the respondents have supported the resintatement of the draconian law, LSK pushed further in its submissions, stating:
“We humbly submit that the right to freedom of expression contains both positive and negative connotations and the negative connotation restrains the government from unnecessary intruding into the private sphere of an individual”, LSK said.

Bridge International Academies will enter a rough patch after World Bank decided not to fund private-for-profit schools.
Education International, a Global Union Federation that represents organisations of teachers and other education employees, ‘urged the financiers of such school models “to put students before profit and stop their sponsorship of Bridge International Academies (BIA)”
In Kenya, BIA was started in 2009. The model is replicated in India, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Uganda. Its aim was to educate 10,000,000 pupils by 2025.
However, Education international, wrote letter to the World Bank’s private sector arm, the International Financial Corporation (IFC), to freeze any investments in private for-profit K-12 schools.
The US House Financial Services Committee in April 2020, announced that the IFC will freeze on any direct or indirect investments in for-profit primary and secondary schools, with a consultative process to decide on a permanent policy.
In letters addressed to the leader of the World Bank, in November 2016, January 2017, April 2017 and May 2018, Education International and its affiliates repeatedly urged the organization to put students before profit and stop their sponsorship of Bridge International Academies (BIA), a for-profit school chain with illegal operations in Africa and Asia.
The IFC had invested more than US$ 10 million in BIA operations in Africa and supported the company’s expansion elsewhere.

Commenting on the Bank’s decision, EI General Secretary David Edwards stated: “EI welcomes this decision, which has been a core demand from teachers, and hopes it will be permanent. This is a major win for Education International and its member organisations. It is a result of years of union and civil society campaigning against private for-profit education through the Global Response to privatisation and commercialisation of education campaign and various advocacy efforts.”
“As we have consistently conveyed to World Bank leaders, using aid to fund private actors for the provision of education clearly contravenes the global commitment to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. In a world where so many children are denied access to education, allocating scarce funding to anything but public education is totally unacceptable.”
Edwards went on to say: “The assumption that private actors would take on public sector obligations with respect to the provision of quality education for all flies in the face of a growing body of evidence, which shows that privatisation does not improve access to, nor outcomes in, education but rather deepens inequality and segregation, denying the right of all children to quality education.”

Kenyans stuck in one of the most inhumane countries Saudi Arabia are calling on Uhuru Kenyatta to help airlift them back home.

Please help us to beg our president Uhuru Kenyatta to allow returning flight so that we can return home during this pandemic, most of us we lost our jobs, we are just struggling here, help us sir to pass this information and God will bless you. Thanks sir”, one of them wrote.

Miguna Miguna says Kenyans cannot inherit anything from Uhuru Kenyatta
The leader of the Kenya Revolutionary Front (KRF) lawyer Miguna Miguna has schooled Kenyans on the legacy President Kenyatta will leave.
Dr Miguna said that all the vices attributed to the president are to be inherited by his kids and not Kenyans.
He wrote, “The only people and “heirs” Despot Uhuru Kenyatta may lecture and pass on his torch of drunkenness, drug addiction, smoking, looting and bestiality to are his children Ngina, Jaba and Muhoho. Kenyans are SOVEREIGN. Kenyans are not Uhuru Kenyatta’s children or slaves. #uhurumustgo.”.
Miguna was sedated and forcefully deported from Kenya in early 2018 after administering an oath on People’s President Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park Nairobi on 30th January 2018.
He was blocked when he attempted to enter Kenya in January 2020, despite over 15 court orders, ordering his the government facilitate his return.
Miguna has been communicating with his followers in Kenya through his posts on Facebook, Twitter and videos of YouTube.
