One document, a Ms. Excel file shows loans amounting to Kshs. 1.8 million advanced to relatives of the management, most of who have already defaulted.

Sameer Africa, the company owned by Rogue businessman Naushad Merali is facing challenges and has written to employees about an impending restructuring programme.

Recently, a local media house reported that the company had dismantled the Nairobi Tyre manufacturing factory equipment to relocate to India.

In a letter seen by the editor of this site (attached at the end of this article), Sameer group states that it is facing ‘challenges occasioned by a weak regulatory environment that has resulted in erosion of our customer base due to proliferation of counterfeit products.

The letter continues to say that, ‘In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the business and continuous alignment of our business model to the trading environment, we continue to critically assess the human resource component of the business’.

Following a detailed assessment of our business needs, it has become evident that we will require to carry out a restructuring programme. The implication of this is that a significant number of positions/roles at the company, will become redundant.

Well, this was the reality for Mercy Mwangi on Friday 24th May 2019 when she boarded a Zuri Genesis heading to Kahawa West.

The PSV vehicle KCB 471R (pictured) diverted towards Kiambu and the two men could not let the young lady alight for reasons known exclusively to them.

But Mercy sensing danger, decided to jump out of the moving vehicle injuring her back and head; she also broke her leg in the process.

First and foremost, let me thank you for your continued good work you have been doing though quite risky and dangerous.

Well, I am a parent of the Good Testimony Junior School that is based at Embakasi Nyayo Estate.

The school management has become very insensitive and very rude with a don’t care attitude to us parents and guardians.

I say this because of the following issues:

1. Despite the government directive that classes end at 1545 Hours (3:45 p.m) each day, the school has extended the school hours for classes 7 and 8 to 1700 hrs (5 p.m) every day. As much as this is to help our kids prepare for exams, they have forced most of us parents to be picking our kids from school after 5 pm since they are not willing to drop them to any other area apart from Nyayo Embakasi.
2. For the parents who cannot afford to pick their kids from school at 5 pm, their kids are being removed from class at 1515 Hours (3:15 p.m) to be dropped with the lower classes students therefore denying them a half hour of studying with their peers who leave at 5pm.
3. Whenever a parent complains, they are told if they cannot keep up with school policy they can as well get another school for their kids.
4. In the morning hours, the same classes 7 and 8 start lessons at 6:30 a.m and the kids on school transport arrive at school by 8:30 a.m, hence denying the same students 1 and half hours or learning in the morning. When any parent seeks clarification on the same, you are told to either drop your child at school by 6:30 a.m or look for another school.
5. The director has become very arrogant to a point of bragging to her friends that she runs her school the way she wants and that whatever decision she makes must be bound by all parents. She was heard recently telling her friends that she bought a v8 for 11 million shillings cash without any loan and that was money she has got from the Kshs. 2000 for 4 o’clock tea she has introduced to class seven and eight students last year.

Please help us to expose this school for being segragative to our kids who are not from rich families and who reside out of Nyayo Estate.

The level of impunity in this country has now reached unbearable levels. This crook, The former Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Engineer Michael Kamau has committed unspeakable crimes and is one of the biggest looters and plunderers of this country. He is plagued by multiple corruption cases which somehow don’t make it to media headlines. If you just google this man’s name you’ll find multiple cases and charges against him.

Away from all the high profile cases already in the public domain, this man Former CS Eng Michael Kamau colluded with another prolific thief one Mr. Kanji Patel of Kay Construction and KaySalt to steal KES 56,850,000 from treasury and also defraud an old Man, Mr. Andrew of his hard earned money.

The scheme is one that will leave you shocked from the bold looting, theft in broad daylight and conniving nature of these two criminals who should be behind bars. But of course you know, cells and prisons in Kenya were made for the poor. The DPP is busy investigating petty chicken thieves and maintaining a strong social media presence whilst turning a blind eye towards the real crooks, the likes of Mr. Kanji Patel and former CS Eng Michael Kamau.

The government contracted Mr. Kanji Patel of Kay construction to construct St Mary’s Nyakahura – Kiamara – Muringato Irima Gatugu Road E540/E539/D427. Contract No. RD 0462. The contract was worth KES 890Million. Mr. Kanji Patel then subcontracted Mr. Andrew’s company, Githambo General Contractors to construct two layers of hand packing stones i.e. the Sub Base and the Base. Both of these are necessary to ensure that the road lasts long without potholes and does not wear out. The cost for these two layers was KES 136 Million and the government did give this cash to Mr. Kanji Patel, the main contractor.

The two colluding thieves, Mr Kanji Patel and the former CS Michael Kamau changed the original design of the road and instead of using stones, they were using spoiled soil. When Mr. Andrew protested the changes citing that the government had issued enough funds for proper sub base construction, i.e. KES 56, 850,000, Mr Kanji Patel cancelled his contract and illegally entered an agreement with 3 other subcontractors. Mr. Andrew of course went to court and sued Mr. Kanji Patel for breach of contract and he won. (Nyeri High Court Case No. 135/2009)

When Mr. Andrew’s company Githambo General Contractors came back to work and now started hand packing the stones, the CS visited the site and instructed Mr. Kanji to write a frivolous warning letter to Mr. Andrew to stop him from building the sub base. They then proceeded to insist and ensure the road was built using one layer only (the base) thereby stealing the KES 56,850,000 meant for the subbase which they of course greedily shared amongst themselves.

To make matters worse and more unpalatable, Mr. Kanji Patel and the former CS Eng Michael Kamau then colluded to swindle and defraud Mr. Andrew of his hard earned cash for handpacking about 29.3km of road with the base layer. They pretended to be paying Githambo General contractors whilst the money was going to their friend and partner in crime Mr. Hanji Hillan Mani who is unknown to Mr. Andrew.

Stealing the money meant for this road created many problems.

1. Mr. Andrew was never paid his cash even after he used his own money to build the base of the road. In fact every time he has tried to follow up on his payment, he has been intimidated with threats of violence and death to him and his family members.
2. The said road is in deplorable conditions, potholes gaping wide open like volcanic craters.
3. A section of the road experiences very dangerous mud slides that could sweep vehicles and people off the cliff.
4. Such stolen money is a conduit for thieves like Mr. Kanji Patel and the former CS Eng Kamau to live large, pay bribes and enjoy life whilst their victims like Mr. Andrew languish in poverty and live in fear for their lives.

They must be stopped. After Mr. Andrew recorded a statement at DCI hoping to get a solution, Mr. Kanji Patel, was summoned to go record a statement at the DCI but has never showed up because he is quite busy globetrotting. I’m certain if a regular Kenyan pulled this stunt, they would arrest them immediately…. But like I said, Justice in Kenya is a blade that cuts down the poor and those unable to pay for their freedom in cash.

The corrupt Industry, Trade and Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has been linked to another scandal, months after he lost a four-year court battle after the Court of Appeal, gave Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) consent to investigate him.

The court ruled last year that CS Munya will be investigated on alleged procurement malpractices that took place during his tenure as the Meru County boss.

According to our source from the Kenya Bureau of Standards, the rogue CS is being accused of disregarding the Kebs board in an appointment that he was supposed to make.

Our source from the board confirmed to us that Kebs advertised for the positions in March and there were interviews on March 13th. The aftermath of the interviews was three names taken to the rogue CS to appoint one, and this is where games started playing.

Using the name of the president maliciously, Peter Munya was overheard lamenting that none of the three submitted names comes from the GEMA community hence appointing even one of them would be an impossibility.

I am a Kenyan who stayed in South Sudan for 5 years and lost my passport there.

I reported the case with the embassy and I was forced to take an affidavit from a lawyer there to the embassy in order for me apply for my lost passport to be replaced; which I actually did.

I then went to the embassy and applied for the replacement of my passport, and I was given the receipt and told to wait for three weeks.

I waited for the first three weeks, then I went to check if it had been brought from Nairobi.

However, to my consternation, I was told to come back after two weeks.

This game of “come-after-two or three weeks” became a routine and I actually frequented the embassy until the time of the last war broke out, and I had to flee South Sudan without my passport.

And up to now, I don’t know whether my passport was taken to Juba or not because am now here in Kenya.

I actually have everything to prove my application for the passport.

I wonder what’s happening in the Kenyan embassy in South Sudan.

Below is a narration by Twitter User Wanjiku Revolt on how Twitter and malicious actors united to bring down his account

My account has been suspended due to multiple, systematic & malicious DMCA takedown notices by surrogate individuals using surrogate Gmail accounts most probably by the same individual. I have provided a phone number, email address and changed password multiple times yet am unable to unsuspend my account.

These two individuals Dennis Mwita & Donald Mbuta who claim to be photographers or videographers and who filed the DCMA takedown notices against my tweets do not actually exist. There is no record of them in Kenya in the addresses they cite/provide or any digital footprint online which is strange for a photographer/videographer. The material they claim to be theirs is available online rights free and has been shared multiple times on multiple social media platforms without any attribution to the said individuals. Notice too that the individuals have not provided ANY links to what they claim to be their original works.

That said, I do not really care much about the takedowns but rather would like to get my account unsuspended.

My platform advocates for human rights, good governance and social justice. My tweets thus are usually critical of the corrupt Kenyan government or it’s officials while amplifying those officials doing a good job. I suspect state operatives did the malicious DMCA notices to interfere with my right to free speech provided graciously through the Twitter platform. The huge organic following my account has seems to be a threat to someone in the Kenyan government.

I hope my account will be restored as soon as possible. It’s been a week of suspension now.

In December 2018, four revelers were seriously injured after a car (a Toyota Prado) run knocked and over some of them while waiting for a Matatu outside the club. Some reports ais that 3 people were killed during this incident.

So last night was my first time at 1824.

I’ve been seeing all the hype and all so last night my cousins and I decided to go see what the hype was all about at around 3am.

Just as we were ordering for drinks at one of the counters, a fight broke out between some guys. We ignored only for one of them to swing a bottle at the other, it mksees him and landed on my head.

I blacked out from the impact and came to consciousness afew minutes later. The ‘manager’ saw the whole incident and told us that he’ll take care of it.

We asked him how and he became so rude to us. So we decided to Langata Police Station and report and later to langata hospital.

As a club they should take responsibility of what happens and not tell us that the guy ran away when he was actually apprehended by the bouncers after the incident.

Twitter’s weak systems have seen malicious actors take advantage of its weak reporting and policy system leading to the suspension of many innocent as the Sheryl Sandberg Vijaya Gade does nothing despite mountains of evidence confirming that some actors are manipulating twitter policies and report button to influence the deplatforming of social media users.

The suspension of popular Twitter Account @WanjikuRevolt presents the chilling truth that we have been singing about for long, but many never listened to us because they were never directly affected.

With censorship, anything is expected.

A few days ago, User Wanjiku Revolt narrated how some actors manipulated the DMCA Twitter policy leading to the suspension of his account by Fuhrer Jack Dorsey who is on a suspension spree all for the “collective health of the platform that has seen refused to grown in userbase”

An Investigation by the editor of this site reveals that the DMCA take-downs only focus on content criticizing the government confirming that Twitter may be working with government actors to deplatform critics.

Last year, Twitter account @C_NyakundiH was permanently suspended for “Multiple policy violations” including DMCA complaint filed by a fella calling himself James Ndiwa of Tuko News, the popular site known for its socialite content.

In another case, the same James Ndiwa reported another social media user , but changed the place of work to Standard Media Group as shown in the email screenshots. Cnyakundi tried to ask journalists working in these media houses if they knew this individual, but he was a ghost!

Does it mean someone created a fake email and reported this content claiming it was his and Twitter acted based on this fake report? But then, all these videos are taken at different places and one wonders how James Ndiwa managed to be in all these places the videos were recorded …

Is Twitter working with government actors to purge critics?

With a declining user base, anything can be possible as Twitter strives to advertise with Kenyan government agencies and corporates.

Ramone Martin, East Africa’s Twitter Executive and Adrian Ciesielski, Africa’s Twitter Sales Manager happened to be in the country where they had attended several functions including Safaricom’s Blaze event in Mombasa and also visited Standard Media group under the invitation of Carole Kimutai, a former Tuko Staffer. Tuko is the Gossip Blog that had filed a fake DMCA claim against the @C_NyakundiH Twitter account and this is what Twitter used as a basis to suspend the Twitter account under the guise of many “many complaints”.

The blaze event was organized by Scangroup, the digital agency whose staffers have been lobbying for the suspension of @C_NyakundiH Twitter Account.

Journalists we have spoken to have confirmed to us that the Twitter executives discussed the @C_NyakundiH suspension privately in an event attended by journalists and local Kenyan agency individuals.

According to the masters of the universe executives, they were receiving an average of five complaints per day confirming that the account was a victim of targetted malicious reporting. Though they refused to state who was sending those complaints because Nyakundi has never received any communication from Twitter pertaining any tweet.

The event was organized by Carole Kimutai, a former Tuko staffer. Only journalists and agency fellas were invited as Bloggers were ignored. Kenyan media has been running a campaign against Bloggers because they view them as competition. Media has seen dwindling revenues as citizen journalism eats into their advertising revenue.

We have also learnt that Twitter is setting up the East and Central Africa office in Westlands as they aim to make more revenue through their advertising packages.

Twitter is targetting private companies like Safaricom and that may be the reason why the Twitter executives attended the Safaricom Blaze event in a pay to play scenario. Safaricom spends quite a sum with Twitter ads and many Kenyans have been observing that anything negative about Safaricom is always censored.

Their office will also target government agencies. This a worrying trend because government agencies may start demanding censorship of critics in order to give them business.

This is a classic case of Kenya. A project is good but the money allocated is what is always not correct.

Directors will often allocate some share of money in projects so that they can collect it later as kick-backs.

Sometimes they collect even what was intended for the projects and that is why we have pictures shared on social media, showing stupid ‘construction projects’ all over.

This is why: see, a tender is floated of let’s say Kshs. 4 million, you apply and win the tender then you are called to sign the contract. At the contract signing meeting, you are told that the Governor, in order to release the funds, wants Kshs. 2 million. Then the Chief officer and the CEC also want something, usually Kshs. 1.5 million. Later you find there are other vultures, which leaves you with Kshs. 1 million to do a Kshs, 4 million job.

How can that job ever be done to standards?

There is a lot of rot in Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) spearheaded by the Director General EngPeter M. Mundinia and Eng. Philemon Kandie.

Instead of supporting the road projects in the country they are busy demanding for money from the projects.

An example is the construction of Iten-Nyaru road, which is almost complete. The two engineers have frustrated the resident engineer of the project to the extent of terminating his contract just because the guy is firm and refused to sign for them the project money.

They have instead instructed him to hand over the project to the regional supervisor who will do as they want.

Rumours have it that the Director General will be running for a gubernatorial position in 2022 and he’s therefore looking for campaign money.

He wants to siphon taxpayers money for his selfish gains.

Kindly let this information reach the CS Transport James Macharia, Ethic and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

These rogue leaders should be removed and let our institutions operate free of corruption. The project is in the same county of Elgeyo Marakwet where the money for Kimwarer  and Arror dams have been squandered.

PART 1

I was visiting my parents in Akiba Estate South C recently and the Nairobi Water so called Equitable Distribution aka water rationing is very unfair. The whole of South C is supposed to get water on Wednesday between 4PM until Thursday 8AM. But in reality the water does not arrive till around 11PM on Wednesday night if you are lucky and by 6:30AM on Thursday morning the water has been shut off. Some residents have also never received water for over 2 months.

So that means some areas get water for around 7 hours once a week. Yet some estates get water for 3 or 4 days. Is that the meaning of equitable? It is not a coincidence that the largest concentration of water trucks is in South C. Is it a cartel? Or is it because there is a large Somali population that is being targeted by water truck vendors in cahoots with Nairobi Water?

From the attached documents, see for yourself the unfairness of the distribution system.

But to give credit where it is due, there is a Nairobi Water staffer called Tyson who tries to do his best in a difficult situation.

The sad situation that is South C Akiba estate roads.

Since the estate was built in 1975, the roads have never been re-carpeted. See attached photos. And yet there is an MP and MCA who have been elected to represent Lang’ata and South C respectively.

Moi Forces Academy Lanet has suspended students that recorded themselves smoking weed, as shared on this blog in April.

In the video, the students were seen smoking weed inside one of the school’s dormitories as they listened to music through a mobile phone.

Yesterday, the editor of this site received an email from a parent blaming him over the suspension of her daughter from Moi Forces Academy Lanet. We understand the bitterness in this parent’s heart but we will respond and address a few issues but first, read her email.

"Your careless remarks have affected my daughter"

Dear Cyprian,

I am writing a disturbed parent following my daughter's suspension from Moi Forces academy Lanet. This was after she was mentioned by the students in a video you allegedly posted on your page claiming that the chidren were smoking weed.

Our children have since been traumatised thanks to you. You made unfounded accusations and have affected these children lives forever.

I pray that with your social media post that caused damage to our children, the same might be the reason for our children to get readmission.

Its been 8 weeks of agony our children will be sitting for end of secondary school exams next term but have to stay at home in agony not knowing what befell them, waiting for a decision. This is beyond the provision by the education act for a minimum of 3 weeks for suspension. Our children were sent home indefinitely.

I don't know you, I don't know if you have children or if you are planning to have any but the fate of our children has been determined by a simple keyboard of your laptop or phone.

I live you, for now, stay blessed and know that this is entirely because of your post.

Parents in Kenya have conceded their primary roles to teachers, trained in inferior training colleges, not compassionate or alert to the needs of a child, and toeing the line of a toxic curriculum called 8-4-4 that was created solely for political expediency and cannot produce globally competitive graduates.

The truth is we attended mediocre schools where teachers brutalised us, both physically and emotionally, constantly reminding us of our inadequacies and subdued any sign of exceptionalism beyond the frame or structure of the mediocre 8-4-4 curriculum. We were conditioned to spoon-feed from textbooks and not the art of brainstorming or trouble-shooting.

And the reality is more than visual.

Children are tortured by waking up at 5am, or even earlier so as to catch public transport or school buses. In school, the pathetic curriculum is dispensed by lowly motivated and poorly trained teachers that attended mediocre colleges like Kagumo or Kilimambogo Teachers Training Colleges.

Co-curricular sporting activities have been scrapped in many schools meaning that children grow up without knowing the real benefits of health and fitness. Mediocre 8-4-4 schools never bother to employ professionals in various fields, who can discover special talent sets in children like music, acting, computers, drawing/painting, linguistics, etc. Mediocre parents who pay an arm and a leg to have their children in these mediocre middle-class schools don’t even bother to vet their school-boards on the possibility of expanded co-curricular programs.

Come school-holidays and your mediocre schools device means of making an extra buck by creating a holiday tuition package. Parents are only too happy to sign up because children can be less of a bother to them. Parents claim a busy schedule in between juggling office duties and meeting their simple friends for either drinks or chama’s.

Come weekend, and it’s the usual mediocre routine. Either stay in the house watching mediocre mainstream media programming like repeats of Inspekta Mwala, or Nigerian movies and Mexican soap operas, programming procured by mediocre editors and media owners running the pathetic TV stations that we have in Kenya. Those kids who might get lucky will have their “switched-on” parents take them on an outing, probably for face-painting and bouncing-castles. As children indulge in soft drinks and unhealthy snacks, parents most probably will consume alcohol infront of their children, thus subliminally recruiting the next lot of drinkers and showing them that weekends are purely and primarily reserved for alcohol.

The reason most of you live mediocre lifestyles, where you start drinking on Friday nights, is because the routine was conditioned into you by parents. You saw them live like this, and you know no better. East African Breweries Limited (EABL) suddenly realized that they don’t need to appeal to new drinkers because a self-recruitment system had already taken root.

None of the parents will take time to engage their children on any special gifts or interests, and most parents see their own productive years as a season to invest in themselves rather than their children. It’s the reason mediocre parents will spend a lot of time playing golf with their buddies, then head to booze till the wee hours of the mornings, forgetting that the opportunity is meant for their kids. Tiger Woods mother did not use her time or money to play golf as her hobby. She instead invested it in her son who had brighter prospects of reaping something beneficial from it. Those of you mediocre parents playing golf or sports need to ensure you rope in your children into the sport or its equivalents.

I get amazed when I visit recreational areas and find parents taking their kids to swim for fun, playing silly games like coin hunt. On the contrary. Parents should invest a few shillings for a professional coach to train their children on competitive swimming, at an Olympic Size pool. In Nairobi, only Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums have Olympic pools. Parents should push for their mediocre schools to allocate Fridays for Co-Curricular activities, where children will be engaged in activities of their interest.

The Kenyan populace is not artistic or sporty because 8-4-4 was designed by the father of the uncircumcised Gideon Moi (Ruto’s words) to stifle any form of creativity in Kenya’s children. And while he did all that to us, he ensured that Gideon got the best education that money could buy, because he’s multilingual, speaking fluent French and is one of the best polo players in the country. Moi even used to pay for a tutor to fly in from England every week. Of course Moi didn’t take Gideon to an 8-4-4 school, so it’s a classic case of preaching water and taking Blue Label. Considering him for president would be as catastrophic as Uhuru.

Parents need to push their schools into adopting an American gift discovery system that identifies and nurtures both academic and co-curricular segments in a child’s growth equally.

I may not be a parent as yet, but leaving issues pertaining to children as a parents-only forte is almost as saying that politics belongs only to politicians. But surely face-painting and bouncing castles is the surest way of breeding the next generation of alcoholics.

You need not insult me as the writer of the article, but look at the merits of the points noted above. Look at the mediocre lives you’re living, and a Government that’s creating an illusion of success and prosperity. Change starts from within and before we eventually bring down this mediocre Government, we have to start effecting change in our own small ways, for the sake of posterity.

It was very WRONG for the Moi Forces Lanet administration to suspend these kids, in order to evade responsibility.

This should have been a great chance to re-evaluate and know where teachers, parents and society must evaluate itself pertaining to the whole topic of poor parenting. The suspended girl’s parents should also admit there is a big problem, shifting blame to Nyakundi is not wise.

It is Cyprian Nyakundi’s hope that Moi Forces Academy management re-admits the students and nurture them to be what they want in society.

The US State Department refused more than 37,000 visa applications in 2018 due to the Trump administration’s travel ban, up from less than 1,000 the previous year when the ban had not fully taken effect, according to agency data.

Recently, it was reported that the USA will require anyone applying for a VISA to share their social media names, previous email addresses and phone numbers. This was said to be as a result of the fight against terrorism.

What the USA doesn’t state is that, in Kenya, they deny VISA to almost everyone who applies.

So, whats the point?

Worldwide, the United States denies nearly 4 million visa applications a year for a variety of reasons, including for practicing polygamy, abducting children or simply not qualifying for the visa in question.

So the new Visa rules are a sham. It is just like double-speak, the way the Slayqueen Ambassador Kyle McCarter purports to comdemn corruption by announcing that corrupt Kenyans will not be allowed into US while at the same time taking selfies with them and praising the same corrupt people on social media.
