CAPTION: Basic bitches like Jacquie Maribe and her close links to the establishment, have seen mainstream media’s waning influence, and the meteoric rise of social-media to replace mainstream media’s bullshit. God bless them.

The editor of this website Cyprian Nyakundi has been featured in this month’s issue of the New African, a London-Based publications, which focuses on promoting the Pan-African agenda.

In the article, the author has profiled what he has termed as an emerging governance “threat” to African Governments in the form of Digital Insurgency.

Social media has become the latest battlefront in Africa, where corruption and bad-governance are rife, after mainstream media’s influence waned due to bribery of journalists and editors.

In Kenya for instance, mediocre mainstream media journalists were hosted for breakfast at Statehouse by President Uhuru Kenyatta weeks upon assuming office, a move that was termed as “selling their souls” to the devil.

Journalists like The Star’s Oliver Mathenge have openly used their sanctified platform to campaign for the status-quo, while Nation Media Group has become a mouthpiece of the corrupt Jubilee regime. Earlier in the year, Statehouse influenced the sacking of editor Dennis Galava and cartoonist Gado, after NMG’s Managing Editor Tom Mshindi was bribed by Government officials.

In the face of grand corruption, mainstream media opted to remain silent for fear of losing advertising revenue.

The Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta centralised advertising functions by opening an exclusive agency whose mandate is procure all advertising in media houses. This was used as leverage to stifle media freedom and free speech, thus leading to mainstream media’s diminishing stature and the rise of social media as a bastion of truth.

And while we are a few bloggers profiled in the magazine, it would be wrong for the journalist to create the impression that there isn’t a general explosion of Internet users and activists who tweet against injustice and corruption in equal measure.

Even worse is corporate fraud, where “advertorials” like Nation Media Group’s Business Daily have become conveyor belts for discharging corporate bullshit, in the form of copy-pasted press releases, spin and propaganda, meant to mislead the public and manipulate share price or raise extra capital.

Mainstream media has continued to propagate the strain of anti-intellectualism, by employing half-baked graduates from Kenyan universities. They have gamourised news and made it about flaunting curves and using sex-appeal to boost ratings. Intellectualy-inferior Disc Jockey’s (Deejay’s) have also been included in TV’s routine programming, yet we know very well that this retarded lot aren’t socially or economically conscious.

Media continues to allocate unlimited airtime to religion, as a way to dumb-down the citizenry and make them desensitised to the rampant corruption in the country, while being convinced by crooked priests to “hope and pray” for a better tomorrow.

Indeed the Kenyan citizenry is turning out to be the dumbest, because the poormedia-induc fall for the media-induced frenzy, applauding projects meant to benefit the rich, as they troop back to their cold homes with empty plates.

For instance, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) Directors and Engineers are bribed by wealthy land owners and property-developers, to concentrate road projects in affluent areas of the country, and keep land values selectively high.

Which is the reason why the roads in Lavington are impeccable, while just next door, (barely 10 metres away), Kawangware could be termed as a slum area.

Meanwhile, fake columnists, bogus PHD-holders like Professor Kagwanja are paraded by mainstream media, to create an illusion of prosperity, using fake WorldBank statistics and fabricated opinion polls.

Were it not for Raila Odinga’s inherent stupidity where his ethnocentric advisors have cultivated an anti-Kikuyu sentiment in him, 2017 could be the first election where he would get significant votes from the community, which has been disillusioned by especially stories that the Kenyatta family is linked to graft.

But Raila as usual, will be campaigning using the “us vs them” mantra, especially being surrounded by institutional-retards like James Orengo, Anyang Nyongo and Johnstone Muthama, further polarising the country, and further denting his image as a nationalist.

Meanwhile Kenyans will continue being screwed by a rigged system, simply because of their addiction to mainstream media, which is operated by Bribed journalists, whose main objective is to maintain the status-quo.
