CAPTION: Former Rarienda MP Nicholas Gumbo

A former employee of Siaya Gubenitorial aspirant Dr Nicholas Gumbo has come forward to protest what she says was an unfair dismissal from one of his long string of businesses.

The middle-aged woman who spoke to us in anonymity sadly narrated how she was rudely kicked out of Feradon Associates Limited without any form of compensation in October 2021.

This gravely unfair treatment was despite her selfless eight years of service to the city-based engineering firm associated with Dr Gumbo.

She served as a cook for the former Rarienda MP and his team of engineers.

Even for the lucky employees who avoided the sack last year, things have not been quite smooth.

Most are suffering in silence from delayed dues.

Apparently, Mr Gumbo’s excuse is he must first bag the Siaya gubernatorial seat before he can draw a plan to compensate his workers.

“Good morning,

Kindly help.

Niliwachishwa kazi last year October bila notice.

Kindly tell him before he splashes money on campaigns he must first pay his staff of Feradon Associates.

I was cooking for him and the staff engineers,”the source writes.

Dr Gumbo will battle it out with Siaya Senator James Orengo in the August 9th gubernatorial race under Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

He will be running on a United Democratic Movement (UDM) ticket with former Police Spokesperson Charles Owino as his running mate.

As for Feradon Associates, the company was 2011 at the centre stage in a multi-million shilling consultancy tender.

Back then, MPs sought clarity into the circumstances that led to the firm winning a major electric engineering sub-tender for the National Assembly’s renovation project.

Dr Gumbo’s company had been sub-contracted by Apco Builders Limited, the main contractor in the Sh1 billion renovation project.

Fredon was to guide the National Assembly on setting specifications for the purchase of Digital Congress Systems facilities for conferencing, among other services.
