Hi, Nyakundi,
Smartlife Credit seems to be a scam.
I invested with them since last year November and my loan has not been credited, we have managed to file a complaint at Thika DCI but it is all in vain.
Over more than 53 people have lost their money through Smartlife Credit.
Obtaining money by false pretences according to the case issued.
The matter is now with DCI and we have not been given a way forward.
POLICE REPORT FILED AT DCI THIKA

STATES AS FOLLOWS: I am the above named Luhya male adult aged 25 years.
I met up with a lady at Kiyio Plaza.
She introduced herself to me as well as a Microfinance, Credit and Loan Savings Sacco which she told me that she was working with.
The lady was working in the same building as I was.
On that particular day, I got interested in the Credit Savings Sacco and later on the lady directed me to her office where she introduced me to the General Manager Lucy.
From here on, Lucy explained to me about the Sacco as well as introduced me to Smartlife Credit and Savings Limited.
The terms and conditions as well as the interest rates amazed me and there on that day at around midday I decided to invest and take a share in the Sacco.
I deposited Sh40,000 to Smartlife Credit and Savings which was to mature after 21 to 90 business days to amount to Sh180,000.
I finished all the paperwork that was to be done and later on went home.
I waited for 60 days without any signs of receiving my money.
I called the Sacco and they told me to be patient and wait some more.
They asked me to have faith in them and that my money would eventually be sent.
I wish to state that I waited for more than 121 business days and still got nothing.
I kept calling them and they kept telling me the same story.
I got pissed to the point that I started avoiding all their calls.
I went back to their offices where they were still telling me the same story.
I got tired and visited their Headquarters at Tom Mboya street where I wished to withdraw from Smartlife Credit and Savings Limited and receive a refund of my money.
Later on, I got told that their offices in Thika had been closed and that the person was being held at DCI Thika West.
I went to the place and that is where I recorded my statement.
Below is a handwritten version of the police report.
