Health practitioners and casual workers at Kenyan-owned private Acacia Medical Centre Limited (Previously referred to as AMCL) have come out to protest delayed salaries.
Speaking on behalf of frustrated employees, a trusted source within the facility has anonymously disclosed to us that some of them are yet to be paid since December 2021.
The unpopular management led by General Manager Faith Mwende and Accountant Daniel Njoroge has been unable to provide any substantial communication regarding the matter.
This has left most of the workforce baffled because facts on the ground portray booming business, with the hospital enjoying a healthy cash flow.
With the current tough economic times attributed to UhuRuto’s catastrophic 10-year reign, most of them have been left struggling to meet their basic needs.
In their quest for justice, they demand that Acacia Medical Centre provide their full 4 months’ salaries in arrears so they can be able to sort out their bills.
“Hi Nyakundi,
Hide my ID.
We need your help.
I am an employee of Acacia Medical Center and Plaza Imaging.
Since January 2022 and some December 2021, we haven’t been paid.
The management under the General Manager Faith Mwende isn’t paying or communicating to us employees.
The hospital is run like a market place no one cares about our well being.
There is cash flowing in daily but we don’t get paid and are told there is no money.
The cost of living is very high now, we barely afford to feed our families, pay bills, school fees etc.
Some of our houses have been closed or water and electricity disconnected due to rent arrears.
The general manager Faith Mwende is milking that company dry and her accountant Daniel Njoroge helping her do it.
Our cries fall on deaf ears as we are told salaries are not her priority whoever wishes to leave should do so she doesn’t care.
We are asking Kenyans to help us get our three and 4 months salaries accumulatively since one month’s salary will not help us due to the piled bills and debts.
Please help us we are suffering,” the victim narrates.
