A commercial debt collection agency based in Nairobi has been faced with allegations of harbouring unfavourable working conditions.
Speaking out through an e-mail forwarded to cnyakundi.com, a section of unhappy employees at Finley International Limited has strongly protested issues to do with mistreatment and poor pay.
Despite working heavy shifts that come with no overtime, workers only receive a Sh10,000 basic salary.
Bonuses are up to Sh5,000 but hardly attainable because most times the targets set are unrealistic.
At Finley International Limited, random exits and recruitments are the order of the day.
Sometimes jobholders do not last even a week at the firm.
This toxic environment has been mainly attributed to an unreasonable and rude Operations Manager by the name of Josephine Wangondu who is described as a “living nightmare” to the entire workforce.
She is notorious for threatening, insulting and belittling her staff to the brink of depression.
Others have complained of being forced to work when sick.
Off days are an unaffordable luxury.
Concerns have also been raised over rampant unlawful terminations based on pure malice.
People are judged by their loyalty to the top as opposed to performance.
For those that resign, the administration brands them as “rebels” and denies them a recommendation letter.
When the workers demand an audience to air their grievances, the CEO never seems to be available.
All e-mails to the CEO are blocked.
The powerless management has been compromised into submission and agrees to all orders made by the boss.
“Good evening Cyprian,
Kindly expose the mistreatment going on at Finley Collections Africa, Mombasa Rd, Road C, Blockchain building.
The operations manager by the name of Josephine Wangondu has made it a living nightmare to work at the company.
Poor pay of a basic Sh10k salary with unrealistic targets so that one to Sh15k.
Being overworked from 8 am to 8 pm with no overtime from Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 pm on Saturdays.
Recruitment is on a daily basis as employees are fired almost daily for no valid reasons.
Threatening employees, insulting and belittling them to an extent of which when one is sick you are forced to work or resign.
Unlawful termination every other time.
One tends to wonder if it’s on a performance basis isn’t one supposed to be placed on a performance program before termination?
No recommendation letter from the company if you resign.
This woman is really frustrating employee and when you raise a concern to the CEO you are fired immediately.
In fact, emails to the CEO have been blocked.
Kindly assist.
Employees do not have a voice as she already has a scripted team”
