A firm contracted by Vivo Energy which owns Shell Petrol Stations, poured materials in front of Foodies Supermarket, blocking its entrance

The Covid-19 era has brought with it some serious breaches of the law by the high and mighty.

As businesses suffer the wrath of lockdown and curfew, others are through the hands of the high and mighty being taken out of competition forcefully.

It is a country that was going down to the dogs, only hurried by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The case of Foodies Supermarket and Vivo energy serves to show, not only the opening words of this article, but also that our country disrepsects the law. We, following in the footsteps of anarchy, lawlessness and violence meted against our psyche, have taken on the garment of the oppressor and it serves no one.

The Court has set the hearing date to June 23rd.Shell’s request was to demolish and develop that area was denied. Our hope is that this big multinational will stop playing dirty games in the cover of the night, without following the legal channels.

Vivo Energy which owns Shell Petrol stations is forcefully evicting Foodies Supermarket, Karen.

The case is in court but Vivo Energy deems it a waste of time. This should not be the case.

Vivo, which wants to build a petrol station on the land went on to bring building materials and pored in front of the entrance to the supermarket.

An appalling gesture by all standards.

“If the high and mighty don’t follow the law, what then would the poor, when they wake up do to them?’ I also ask.

Vivo/Shell is engaging in dirty, underhand tricks to kick out Foodies Supermarket. The supermarket has been running for more than 20 years.

Shell is said to have bribed its way into ‘winning’ the case at the tribunal stage, but it was immediately appealed and so, the due proves of the law must be followed.

However, because, Vivo/Shell is owned by ‘big guys’ they decided to invade numerous times, the private quarters of the supermarket, bulldoze things and pour material for construction at the entrance to the supermarket.

Vivo/Shell must wait for the law to decide.

They came at 6 am in 6 trucks, bulldozed themselves in, and quickly poured out this material and hurriedly left..
Shell/Vivo thuggery, early this morning. Deliberate frustrations/bullying by pouring the building materials, outside the main entrance without a court order. Aim is to intimidate/arm twist Foodies Supermarket and interfere with the daily operations/business of the popular supermarket
1 week ago, they dropped this containers, outside main entrance..

Thuggish behaviour
Through Sheer courage, Foodies Supermarket is open, after pushing aside the materials and refuses to be intimidated by the big/crooked multinational Shell
