I was a team leader at hotpoint appliances and I worked for hotpoint for six years, I was surprised as the new HR terminated me from work since we participated in a Merry go round ( chama).

Anyone who sent money via Mpesa lost their job  just like that and we were called thieves while no case was reported and yet had no evidence.

I regret working for hotpoint upto to date and it really wasted my career.

Till now,  hotpoint is still  mistreating its staffers  in the name of a Job.

I pray that the government rescues the citizens of this great country Kenya.

Dramatic scenes of chaos has erupted this afternoon at Kagumo Market in Kirinyaga Central, few minutes after Ann Waiguru arrived to launch the market.

The Kenya National Commission to UNESCO has been rocked by a sex scandal involving a deputy CEO David Otiato and a  married chief accountant, Catherine Nyakoboke. David Otiato, who  is also married, was the general manager finance at the institution and was Catherine  Nyakoboke’s direct boss, and in blatant disregard of HR policy, David Otiato started sleeping with Catherine right in the office, on desks and in the carpet.

This information came to light on on 6 July 2019, when Cate’s husband and his friends caught David Otiato and Catherine kissing and caressing each other at Enkare Pub and Restaurant in Kitengela.

A scene ensured  and David Otiato hopped into a boda boda and ran away. People at the pub forced the drunk Catherine to confess to her husband, and in front of everyone present, she narrated how she has been sleeping with Otiato to get favours at work.

She says the first time she had sex with Otiato was a few days after she reported to work and Otiato had sex with her in the office, while she held the table and David Otiato did it from behind. While weeping and begging for forgiveness, Catherine Nyakoboke further confessed to bewildered revelers at the pub that Otiato had promised her that he is working to get rid of the CEO so that when he becomes CEO, she will be the deputy CEO.

The drunk Nyakoboke further revealed to stunned onlookers, in her husbands presence that she paid Sh 500,000 to secure the job even though she was number three in the interview .

Back then, the CEO Evangeline Njoka and David Otiato who was then the general manager finance were in good terms and David Otiato told her that the money was to be divided between senior management and the board members. He said board members ‘ni watu wadogo’ and each was to be given Sh 15,000, but influential board members Esther Wanjau and Josephine Muriuki would receive Sh 30,000 each while Patrick Ochich was to get Sh 20,000.

The CEO Evangeline Njoka allegedly demanded for Sh 100,000 and the HR Manager David Looremeta allegedly demanded Sh 50,000. Cate gave the money to David Otiato in cash and as he said he had bribed the CEO, HR manager and all board members, and as he had promised, she got the job despite being number three in the interview. David Otiato was then promoted to deputy CEO and he quickly promoted Catherine to head the finance department.

But why would a government agency with serious funding and attached to an respected international body not do due diligence on their employee who is directly in charge of handling cash?

Catherine who is an ICPAK member, Eastern branch, when she was pregnant,  had been fired from Matlick company due to embezzlement and she even spent a few days in jail before she was bailed out.

When she joined KRA, she was also fired because she was caught receiving a bribe near Yukos Petrol Station in Kitengela. Instead of prosecuting her, the managers decided to fire her. All this information is available from her ex employers.

When she was fired from Avic Shantui, she joined the The Kenya National Commission to UNESCO , her boss at Avic, a gentleman named Jake, refused to give her a recommendation letter. She forged a letter together with David Otiato and had it signed by a ‘manager’ named Walter.

A simple phone to all her previous employers will reveal all the embezzlement cases that Nyakoboke has been involved in, while the body regulating accountants ICPAK and her boss cum lover,(see what I did there?) Otiato turns a blind eye.

According to ICPAK  rules, a recommendation letter is needed from previous employers to weed out corrupt and fake accountants who give the accounting profession a bad name. A simple phone call to her previous employers would have revealed the three case of fund embezzlement this ICPAK member has been involved in. But because Otiato was sleeping with Cate, and had already taken money from Cate, everything had to be done to ensure she secured the job.

Right now, Otiato who abandoned his wife at home to come ‘enjoy life’ in Nairobi sleeps, feeds and shits in Catherine’s marital home in Nyayo Embakasi. A spot check with Kiragu and Mwangi caretaker, will reveal that its Catherine’s husband who pays rent for the house, but Otiato is now known in Nyayo Embakasi as Catherine’s husband.

He managed to dislodge the husband by getting a court order restraining her husband from accessing the house or seeing the children. Now, in full presence of their pre teen children, David Otiato shamelessly undresses and sleeps with someones wife,, corrupting the children minds.

Three weeks ago, David Otiato attempted to go for an introduction at Catherine village but was chased away like a village chicken thief.

For a man who brags that he is the next CEO of The Kenya National Commission to UNESCO, claiming he has enough political connections to dislodge the current CEO, David Otiato is treading on thin ice by sleeping with junior members of The Kenya National Commission to UNESCO, accepting money to give jobs and soliciting for sex to promote his junior.

He has the protection of the board which he claims to bribe regularly.

The body of tycoon Tob Cohen,71, has been found in a septic tank at his Kitisuru home in Nairobi, DCI George Kinoti has confirmed.

Kinoti said the body was discovered on Friday afternoon, a day after the tycoon’s wife Sarah Wairimu was presented in court on a murder charge, but she did not take a plea after the court ordered a mental assessment.

“The body has been found in what we initially thought to be septic tank at his home but we later realized it was an underground water tank,” Kinoti told Capital FM News from the scene of crime, where he was accompanied by detectives from the DCI’s Homicide Department.

He told journalists at the scene that, “the body has been positively identified by family members and it is confirmed that it is Cohen, these people are absolutely heartless. Cohen was murdered in his own residence. It is very unfortunate, but we have the suspects in custody.”

Detectives said the body had been blindfolded and wrapped in a blue blanket, with both hands tied, suggesting he may have been tortured to death, according to detectives handling the case.

Kinoti told journalists more suspects will be taken in, “we have two suspects in custody already, and we are looking for more.”

As soon as the body was discovered, the murder suspect Wairimu was taken to the home by police and her lawyer Philip Murgor called, but he has protested, accusing police of fixing his client.

Cohen, a celebrated golf tournament organizer, was reported missing two months ago, and his wife was arrested and detained until Thursday when the prosecution told the court that they had evidence to charge her with the murder.

Cohen is a former Chief Executive Officer of Dutch conglomerate Philips East Africa who has lived in Kenya for many years.

Justice Charles Kariuki directed Wairimu’s state of mind to be examined and the report tabled in court Monday when the case will be mentioned.

Wairimu’s lawyer, Murgor, who was angered by the decision to defer plea yet his client had been in custody for 16 days, was allowed to be present during the examination after he made damning allegations that one of the officers probing the murder is “sexually harassing her”.

Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki told the court that investigations were still on and there was need to put some witnesses under protection before evidence in their possession can be furnished to the defense team.

An attempt by Murgor to object the mental examination and seek Wairimu’s release on bail pending charges was thwarted after Justice Kariuki told him “I am not here to listen to those applications. Make them on Monday before the head of the criminal division Justice Jessie Lesiit.”

According to a charge sheet filed in court, “Sarah Wairimu Kamotho on the night of 19 and 20 July jointly with others not before court murdered Tob Chichou Cohen.”

When Wairimu was arrested two weeks ago, Kinoti said, “She is the prime suspect and that is why she was arrested.”

“We suspect he may have been killed,” he said.

In previous interrogations with police, Wairimu is reported to have told investigators that Cohen was last seen on July 20, when he left their Kitisuru home in Nairobi, and has never been seen again.

The Daily Nation, quoting a letter she is said to have written to the Dutch Embassy, said she complained that “Tob has depression and mental condition he won’t address for personal reasons and this has (been) and is causing a lot of problems.”

“He has become impossible to live with, even though we try. The family has stepped aside due to the abusive and vindictive nature of his condition,” she wrote, in the letter to the Dutch Embassy that was seen by the daily that first reported the story.

The Dutch embassy in Nairobi never replied to letters from Wairimu.

The couple was involved in a divorce case.

A few weeks ago, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i announced that the government has acquired Forensic DNA Analysis machines to help in fighting crimes.

This was a good thing, but being launched at a time police reforms failed.

DNA profiling is a forensic technique in criminal investigations, comparing criminal suspects’ profiles to DNA evidence so as to assess the likelihood of their involvement in the crime. It is also used in parentage testing, to establish immigration eligibility, and in genealogical and medical research.

The problem with Kenyan criminal justice system which starts with investigations by police to the trial at the Judiciary is the MANNER IN WHICH POLICE CARRY OUT INVESTIGATIONS or handle the scene of crime.

For example, do you remember the case of slain Moi University Student Ivy Wangeci? the police that arrived at the scene didn’t even secure it. One was even pictured carrying the murder weapon with bare hands.

Yesterday, the body of Dutch Tycoon Tob Cohen was retrieved from a concrete-sealed septic tank in his compound. The crime scene wasn’t secured, as police officers stepped on it without mercy.

As stated earlier, the Kenya Police reforms failed and thus, the training in the manner they are supposed to handle the crime scene has always been wanting.

My Name is” (hidden), ” I work at DHL gateway facility at the airport. Last time you aired about the challenges face by sta and I can assure you Mr. Mutuma Andrew acted and made things good, thanks for that.

However, lately we are facing a lot of challenges with the gateway manager Consolata Nzomo, the lady has turned us into Saudi Arabia house girls, abusing and intimidating us; she has even gone to the extent of firing some of my workmates.

This lady is driven by emotions and once he hates you, your life at DHL is over. We no longer work at ease, for the last 7 months, she has sacked a lot of people.

She is very petty, if one dresses better than her, she says you are competing with her; you can even get fired for that.

It is a hell-hole as some senior male managers harass us every day, if he seduces you and you refuse, then your survival chances at DHL are minimal. We are currently at a point where we just show up for work, no motivation whatsoever; as long as the day is over.

Illegal gas plants are being licenced after dropping bribes to Oimeke and all of us have been wondering why DPP has not moved in to investigate licencing at the Commission if anyone cares about public welfare. (I’ll cover this later)

A tussle over a song titled ‘Bash’ had been ongoing between Rapper Kristoff and upcoming music group Effect Gang.

The Facebook page of the chief editor of this site posted a video received from a friend and fan of Effect Gang music group, accusing Kristoff if stealing their song.

Immediately after posting the complaint video, Kristoff responded terming the matter as a witchunt and fake news.

Today, Kristoff, representing the other artistes i.e. Yvonne Darcq and Kush Tracy, sent a demand letter to Effect Gang members ordering them to apologize within 3 days or face court action.

A call placed to Masling and Lino, the members of Effect Gang, by yours truly, unearths that the group made their song in early August and even posted the audio trailer on the Twitter account Innocent Smoker on 8th August.

This disapproves Kristoff’s and his fans claims that Effect Gang stole the song from him, a claim which was based on YouTube timestamps.

On YouTube, Kristoff posted the music video before Effect Gang did. Effect Gang, through Masling, says they recorded the song and due to lack of funds, they couldn’t do a video so as to release it on YouTube.

Going by their Twitter posting of the song, it confirms that the song is indeed theirs.

Question is, why is Kristoff lying to the public?

Why did Kristoff go to great lengths to hire a lawyer to threaten Effect Gang?

It had always been, ‘Luos are stupid’, well the handshake happened and you’ve heard people hurting to the level of wanting Luos to go on the streets.

On Monday, social media users on popular platform, Twitter, decried the reemergence of Illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) despite the tightening of regulations meant to tame the dangerous trade that continues to endanger the lives of millions of consumers.

The cartels have been accused of illegally importing cooking gas through porous border points and taking advantage of the transition period before the new, stringent rules are enforced, to set up illegal refilling dens in various parts of the city, including in residential areas, to make a killing.

After smuggling the cooking gas, which largely falls below local quality standards, the illegal dealers skew the market by offering attractive rates, thereby attracting unsuspecting consumers.

Just last week, a supermarket in Kawangware was found selling hundreds of rebranded cylinders belonging to various oil marketing companies in a raid that saw the owner of the store arrested and later released.

A local daily has accused Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority Director General Pavel Oimeke, who has been blaming weaker regulations for the existence of LPG cartels, of failing to respond to their queries on the matter.

Through the hashtag #StopIllegalGasRefilling, one netizen Oimeke of receiving bribes from notorious businesspeople in exchange for licensing their illegal gas refilling plants.

In 2017, Nairobi businessman Isaac Irungu hit a snag in his Sh4.6 million compensation demand from National Oil Corporation of Kenya after a gas cylinder explosion left him with serious burns.

Last year, police impounded over 500 gas cylinders in a night raid at a residential house in Eastleigh. Another raid was conducted at Madaraka estate where more than 600 cylinders were found being refilled under risky conditions in a residential house.

Yesterday, MacDonald Mariga Wanyama was declared fit to vie for the Kibra Member of National Assembly seat on a Jubilee Ticket.

That came after a series of setbacks which culminated in Mariga being suspended for not being a registered voter among other serious issues.

Mariga later showed that he is indeed a registered voter, however, illegally registered past the registration date required before an election is conducted.

His lawyers however managed to convince IEBC that registration is continuous. I don’t have any candidate that am supporting for the Kibra parliamentary seat, but I think the argument by Mariga’s lawyers is just bulshit since as Chebukati thinks, Election laws only apply to voters and not candidates.

This is a story of how teachers are mistreated at Brookhurst International School.

They live like slaves and work for 12 to 16 hours on a single day with little pay, tax is not paid, NHIF/NSSF not remitted yet deductions are made from salaries. Forced to eat previous-day’s lunch leftovers with little regard to health.

When you resign from the school, the Principal sabotages your prospects of getting a new job. When he is contacted, he gives damaging and disgusting recommendation to prospective employers.

The principal is to be issued with a lawsuit for defamation.

There are numerous recorded evidences of defamation.

The Principal, Mr. George Mathenge,

Brookhurst International School.

Dear Sir,

I know you will probably disregard or delete this email, but it won’t stop me from writing though. At the very least, some eyes will still read through, trust me.

It is one year since I left Brookhurst International School, when you dismissed me under unproven and unjust circumstances. I have never complained about it, nor talked to anyone about the school. But you have.

Plenty of times. Whenever you’re called upon to give a reference, you give information about me, about those who left and a really damaging one, even after informing you that I need your help to secure a job. You ago ahead and dig all kinds of dirt and forward to our prospect employers, hence we end up with no job. Just like you did few days ago. I am aware of all the disparaging things you said about me. It’s unprofessional and demeaning and demonizing.

Funny, you never told them how I left Brookhurst. You never said how many people u’ve replaced since I left (I’m aware of all things that happen). You never told them that over 90percent of teachers also left from the time I left. You only talk of you, and your hate towards me. What do you want?

After all the sacrifices I did at Brookhurst? Handling the sports department with literally no -help – even after numerous attempts requesting that I needed help (it was doing far much better than now or before me); teaching physical education the whole school alone, mathematics and even ict. Most of weekends I spent with kids while you were away doing your business! The kind of food you guys gave us, making us eat previous day’s food! The subordinate staff was treated even far much better than us. The ‘driver was like my supervisor: he dictacted to me when to and when not to use the swimming pool, the field and even told me to limit the bus use! How the accountant used to coldly treat us and she never paid my taxes yet my contracted stated that tax was supposed to be remitted (I owe KRA the taxes she didn’t bother to submit). You knew all these but never took any action. Who the world treats teachers like second class people? There’s so much that it pains me to think about.

I was always the last to get out of school daily late evening with countless times getting home nearly midnight hours, considering the hardship of transport. You did not even bother to afford me accommodation. But I never complained.

You once wrote me an email quoting ”how the school appreciates the kind of input I have in implementing the sports program.” I guess this was just playing pr.

You and I both know that Brookhurst has students who are drug addicts, rude to teachers and very disrespectful. We once caught a lady with a packet of cigarettes and you literally did nothing, nothing about. There were boys who wouldn’t go a week without alcohol and still you just played dummy by pretense of tough talk. Your student once beat up another student in another school, and went a head and punched a colleague, we brought to your attention and all you was tell him to pick leaves, while the student from the other school was severely punished. You knew, but you did nothing. The Alliance issue, after I did my investigation I brought to your attention. I told you students sneaked at night to buy alcohol and they skillfully put alcohol in water bottles you wouldn’t know. But then, I was never accommodated in school to stop any form of sneaking, but you guys are! And then you BLAMED ME FOR STUDENTS WHO TOOK ALCOHOL that day! It’s not fair Mathenge.

A boy named Evans was also a drug addict, besides being rude to teachers, bullied other kids (he once bullied the small Emmanuel)I brought to your attention and you did nothing. You knew about him but you ignored. He wanted to fight me outside school with his disrespect. On this occurrence I did not bring to your attention but you would still have ignored. When you found out from another teacher you chose to side with the student and IGNORED my action and never heard my story.

On my last week of my exit, on a Sunday afternoon (I wasn’t in school) the soccer coach together with former students, came for a friendly match match with Brookhurst students. You were so angry that you acted in haste (thinking that they had drugs, yet drugs we’re already in the school hostels), and chased all the former students out of school (you’re not even proud of your own former students, yet you are a principal! What a joke) You blamed me for this: yet I did not open the gate for them to enter, I was not duty that day and I was not even aware in the first place they would come! My only mistake, being in charge of sports.

All these among this among the disrespectful things students did to us, led to my dismissal! I still have the dismissal letter, stating the alliance issue (which was many months preceding my exit), Evans issue and the former students issue.

This is sincerely what led to my exit. Sincerely does it make sense that you sabotage all my chances of getting a good employment elsewhere? Director, does it?

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, changing teachers is not a solution to the growth of your school, director? Just maybe, the admin has overstayed and it needs fresh breath. How comes the oldest serving members of the school staff are the admins? It’s not right. Think about it, Director.

I left Brookhurst to begin a new life. Not to stay stagnant. It’s one year since I left you can’t tell my prospect employers that I’m aggressive, abusive, lazy? Like what you did recently. You did twice to Mr, Daddy, you did it to Mr Baya, me countless times and God knows how many more you have done this to. Mrs. Ruth, if you are reading this, institutions have policies as in regards to references and recommendations. Kindly see to it that Mathenge adheres. He has gone personal band thus making it hard for those who left Brookhurst to survive out here. Is that what you want? Do you know your teachers fear the kind of recommendation Mr Mathenge will give out to prospect employers when they leave? Can they even deliver?

Mathenge, out of good heart, you need to stop this. It’s too painful. Its discouraging even to live. You need to apologise and take back your statement. Because you have a kid, imagine your daughter in my position. She will grow up, and she will need recommendation. Just an apology. You have sabotaged and defamed me so many times so this once, kindly.
