Struggling Metropol CRB Staffers have raised alarm over delayed Salaries that are only affecting the junior employees even as the senior management keeps smiling to the bank monthly.

Staffers that spoke to the chief editor of this site narrated how they have suffered since March of this year with no Salaries and no word from management that no longer cares for them.

Most staffers have had their houses locked with the inability to put food on their tables and sustain themselves. According to credible sources, some have been harbouring suicidal thoughts as they watch their families suffer with no promise of a better tomorrow.

Metropol was established in Kenya in 1996 as a business Information and credit management company.

As per their website,

Metropol is also licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya to provide Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Services to ALL banks in Kenya. Our CRB services leverage full-file credit information sharing and alternative data sources from MFIs, SACCOs, HELB, Utilities, Mobile phone companies and providers of goods and services on credit to help customers improve their access to finance and increase the credit providers’ capacity to lend profitably to more customers.

A few months ago, all the suppliers ganged up and demanded to be paid after an article carried by this blog revealed that Metropol CRB has been struggling and unable to pay debts or its staff.

We had exclusively revealed that the company had asked the staff to take a 50% pay cut.

Staffers that the editor of this site spoke to demanded to be paid their pending salaries before they go to the streets. They are also appealing to the ministry of Labor to listen to their cries.

“We housed the Covid-19 response team, with all the risk that was involved they have not paid the invoice totaling Sh27 Million plus. We have followed nobody is helping they are taking us in circles boss,” a source from Hadassah Hotel said.

Even as the Britania CEO drives a Ksh 8 Million fuel guzzler, Britania employees have gone for months without a salary and not even the intervention of Labor CS Simon Chelugui has made them pay, let alone hold a meeting they promised to hold to resolve the issue after the editor of this site spoke to the CS requesting him to resolve the issue of the suffering employees.

As this was happening, the Britania CEO Mr Depak Shah bought a brand new car worth Ksh 5million last month. Our intelligence collection network informs us that the car is KDB 600W, Prado Tx.

The employees who have been camping outside Britania premises for more than a month are now asking the labour CS to do something because the company has completely refused to listen to them.

” The excuse that Tuskys went down with our salaries is petty, we just need our money,” Says one employee that cnyakundi.com spoke to.

Britania was served with a letter from the labour office when they went to labour to follow up. They said they were to meet with a labour officer a Mr Kimeu who don’t seem to care too about the matter.

BRIEF ON THE BRITANIACOMPANY LIMITEDEMPLOYEES OUTSTANDING SALARIES

I make reference to a complaint raised in regards to the above subject matter, the Sub County Labour Officer Industrial Area visited the premises on the 13th May 2021 and has given the following preliminary report following discussions with the Human Resource Manager:-

1. That the organization last paid the employees the salary for the month of February 2021.

2. That the Organization is involved in the production of biscuits, which they supply to various outlets major among them, was Tuskys supermarket.

3. That following the lockdown to mitigate the covid-19 pandemic, the employer increasingly encountered cash flow problems, which was further compounded by the closure of Tuskys supermarket without having paid for supplies delivered.

4. On the 10th May 2021 the workers agitated for their outstanding salaries for the months of March and April 2021, by locking themselves in the work premises until they were dispersed by the police the following morning.

5. The Officer has established that the employer owes the (43) forty-three employees approximately Kshs3.4 million for outstanding salaries for the two months.

6. That the employer is in negotiations with a new investor to inject more capital into the enterprise to rejuvenate operations and clear the outstanding salaries.

7. The operations of the employer are currently at a standstill owing to the impasse on the pending salaries. The Officer is making efforts to get the Director to commit to a time frame within which the salaries can be paid.
The Department intends to initiate dialogue between the parties to resolve the conflict and formulate a long term remedy to safeguard employment and investment.


Further reports verified by this site indicate that Mr Depak Shah also refused to sign a recognition letter for the Baker's Union so that he can be able to oppress workers. We have information that Britania management has been served with a letter from the workers union headquarters to sign by tomorrow 4th June 2021, or else they will be taken to court.

“MD Dipak shah has self-interest in the company and he doesn’t have the interest of the company and that of employees at heart. He brought the issue of employees to be paid half salary from last year May and now we are in May. Full-year and now we are in the 4th month with no pay” Says one employee.

Though the employees indicate that the issue of Britannia workers can be solved by one man Mr Paul Kavuma a Ugandan by citizenship. He is the CO for catalyst investors who owned Britania food Ltd.

The workers are also appealing to Mr Kavuma to come out quickly and keep the promise he told the workers in Jan 2017 when he took over the Company from Jambo biscuits.

Mr Kavuma is a known billionaire, with a vast of companies in Kenya. He is one of the biggest shareholders at Prime bank.

“Mr Kavuma should come out and stop Mr Depak Shah who is known for his style of management way back when he was working with Dodhia Packaging Ltd,” Says a worker.

Note: Forbes categorized billionaires by current age (2021). For those slightly over or under the age range of Millennials, meaning those who are currently 24 or 40 years old (i.e. they could have been born in either 1996/1997 or 1980/1981), if their birth year could not be accurately determined, they were left out of this ranking.

Who are the Millennial Billionaires?

The oldest millennials will be turning 40 in 2021, while the youngest are just turning 25. This means that millennial billionaires are generally the youngest billionaires in the world, save two Gen Zers: Wang Zelong of China, 24, and Kevin David Lehmann of Germany, 18.

The U.S. is home to the most millennial billionaires at 33 total, with China coming in second at 23—most other countries fall far behind.

Complaints regarding the deplorable state of St Marys School Yala teachers quarters have reached the chief editor of this site, who also happens to be the alumni of the great Nyanza giant, class of 2009, form 4W.

According to the informer, the teachers quarters are in a deplorable state, with no action from the sleeping management which has been accused of laxity in fixing the issues.

The editor of this site called one teacher who reiterated the same statements and wondered how the school expects the teachers to have teaching morale while living in such conditions.

The road leading to teachers quarters is very muddy and teachers cannot access their compounds using their cars comfortably. Worst of all is the sad state of the teacher’s washrooms that are now full and almost sinking.

Lastly, security around the residence is very bad and teachers have lost so many valuables in the recent past.

The Nigerian government on Friday announced it is suspending Twitter operations in the country indefinitely.

Twitter suspended Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday for “abusive behaviour.”

Buhari tweeted a warning to ‘insurrectionists’ on Thursday so Twitter stepped in and suspended his account.

“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War,” Buhari tweeted.

“Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand,” he added.
Nigeria responded Friday by suspending Twitter’s operations in the country.

Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where “hostages or abuse victims bond with their captors and abusers.” This bonding can occur over days, weeks, or months of captivity and abuse. Rather than being terrorized by their captors, hostages sympathize with them, developing positive feelings, sharing common goals and causes, and essentially falling in love with their captors.

The story behind the Stockholm Syndrome is a 1973 six-day hostage event in a Swedish bank. By the second day, “the hostages were on a first-name basis with their captors, and they started to fear the police more than their abductors.

” By the end of the hostage crisis, “the convicts and hostages embraced, kissed and shook hands.”

A modern-day version of the Stockholm Syndrome is playing out after over a decade of Safaricom captivity. Kenyans have been held hostage by notorious Telco Safaricom which is colluding with the likes of Communication Authority Of Kenya (CAK), Opus Dei Patrick Njoroge, who doubles up as the CBK governor and Kenyan media oligarchs.

How then could one explain some Kenyans responses under a popular tweet that sought to ignite a conversation regarding the expensive Mpesa charges?

Under the tweet, it was apparent that Many Safaricom hostages are fighting back but others may have succumbed to Stockholm Syndrome. A keen observer will tell you that Safaricom sometimes shows some kindness by giving their hostages some small goodies and promotions hence some unconsciously view them as benevolent gods and now worship them and their ideals.

Some have come to accept the high Safaricom Mpesa charges with arguments like, “At least Safaricom are efficient and their network is stable”, a clear sign of serious Stockholm syndrome.

Safaricom posted a Ksh.74.7 billion net profit for the year ending March 31, 2020, representing a 19.5 per cent growth in earnings from 2019.

The new record profit by the telco operator was largely attributable to growth from M-Pesa[snip] and data with the respective streams rising by 12.6 per cent and 12.1 per cent to stand at Ksh.84.4 billion and Ksh.40.7 billion respectively.

Early this year, there was a controversy over the Safaricom Home Fibre revamping. We uncovered it under the article “No Love In The Connection’ As Safaricom’s Con Is Exposed Over Revamped Home Fibre ” 

A 2019 report by Egyptian investment bank EFG Hermesdubbed dubbed Mobile: Deepening Financial Inclusion But at a High Cost, noted that within East Africa Region, Kenya leads in terms of adult mobile penetration, followed by Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda.

The report also showed that whereas there is improvement in the penetration of mobile banking across sub-Saharan Africa, transaction costs still remain high.

In Kenya, the cost of sending and withdrawing $5 through Safaricom’s M-Pesa platform is currently fixed at nine per cent of the value of the transaction.

” Borrowing through Safaricom’s overdraft facility Fuliza is more expensive for smaller amounts. The report notes that the effective cost of borrowing $1 on your mobile using M-Shwari and Fuliza accounts in Kenya is 7.5 per cent per month and two per cent per day. However, the annual percentage rate (APR) of borrowing $25 on Fuliza is only 17 per cent, implying that Fuliza is disproportionately expensive for the poor that they claim to be uplifting and working for” 

“If the costs of mobile transfers are high, the cost of borrowing on the mobile is usury. This is particularly true of Safaricom’s latest overdraft facility — Fuliza. The effective cost of borrowing $1 from Fuliza is two per cent per day with an APR of 137,641 per cent. However, the cost of borrowing $25 is 0.04 per cent per day with an APR of 17 per cent.

“While we are encouraged by the depth of mobile banking across sub-Saharan African countries, we believe that now is the time to focus on the costs and would encourage both the central banks and ICT regulators to review the cost of this financial inclusion because the current tariff rates are disproportionately expensive for the poor.”

“With regard to Kenya in particular, we strongly believe that it is absolutely inconsistent to regulate bank lending rates and not all borrowing rates. Competition on a level playing field is all that is needed to bring down tariffs and rates across sub-Saharan Africa,” the report says.

It however remains a mystery as to how Safaricom has managed to suppress this conversation but Kenyans must beware of Safaricom planted bots that normalize everything with statements like ” Safaricom is efficient if you don’t like Safaricom quit, Safaricom is better than others”. Why the CBK has not implemented some suggestions in these great reports reveals how Safaricom has managed to bully and control all the sectors of the Kenyan economy, something that may not hold for life.

Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior

A distasteful tweet by Makueni Senator led him into unfamiliar territories after he was attacked by a Kenyan who seemed to strongly disagree with his sentiments. 

The Makueni senator had quoted a tweet from the official Judiciary account with a statement that read “Just in case anyone thought the CJ will be a pushover” in reference to the statement issued by Chief Justice Martha Koome after the swearing-in of the 34 judges.

The Kenyan responded to Mutula Kilonzo’s tweet by saying ” Unaongea vibaya na kama sio viagra hungechaguliwa” in reference to a popular allegation that his father Mutula Kilonzo died of Viagra overdose. 

Though, 3 years ago, an autopsy report ruled out the possibility that former Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo might have taken a sex-enhancing drug before his death.

A Nakuru based medical doctor, testifying in a public inquest into the legislators’ death told a Machakos court there was no evidence of a physical external injury or signs of a struggle in and outside the house where his body was found.

“Honourable Mutula Kilonzo died of massive haemorrhage (bleeding) into the chest and cranial cavity, significantly elevated blood pressure due to several factors including but not limited to excess ingestion of pseudoephedrine with caffeine,” Dr S.W Mwangi told Senior Resident Magistrate Kipkurui Kibellion.

Pseudoephedrine is a drug usually used as a decongestant to shrink the blood vessels in the nasal passages.

Mutula Kilonzo has in the recent past been accused of making distasteful tweets aimed at worshipping the oppressive Jubilee regime. A privileged kid, Mutula Kilonzo has been told by social media users to fuck-off because his family benefitted from the oppressive dictator Moi’s regime. 

At one time he was under fire for supporting the lock-down and alleging that Corona was spreading because Kenyans were not following the laid down protocols by the ministry of Healthy and if Kenyans would not shape up, the country should be locked.

The late Mutula Kilonzo was a long-time lawyer to dictator Moi.

Kenyan Blog Viral Tea reports that Kenyans online were quick to notice the peculiar posts on the social media account belonging to the media proprietor.

Mutoko lost her verified Facebook account to suspected Asian hackers on Friday, June 4.

Mutoko’s page reveals inconsistent posts on the account, with a majority of them being funny compilation videos.

Mutoko’s fans flooded the page on Friday as she is yet to issue an official statement on the matter at the time of publishing.

“I highly doubt these posts are from Caroline. These videos are too many, plus it doesn’t sound like her. I think her account is in someone else’s hands,” alerted one user.

“Feels bad!! Just like that and your count you have worked so hard to build just disappears. I can imagine what she is going through right now,” weighed in another.

But all evidence suggests that Mutoko might have been tricked by Vietnamese hackers who promise you huge sums of money if they advertise on your page. They socially engineer you into knowing your password and taking over your page.

The Nation Media Group is under fire from social media users over the story of Ms Maureen Mung’ohe Musungu, a business and information technology student at Strathmore University who went missing for two weeks.

She said she had been locked up at a friend’s apartment in Athi River, Machakos County, something the socials have taken issue with.

According to the student, the man claimed to have misplaced his keys, so they had no option but to stay in the house for two weeks where she survived on noodles and was not allowed to shower or make calls for the entire period.

Of all the comments shared on social media, many Kenyans are saying the story doesn’t add up and blaming the media for doing a shoddy story aimed at chasing clout.

Just months after a video of a visibly drunk Supreme Court judge Smokin Wanjala bragging about his impressive academic credentials to villagers trended on social media, another one involving his son has also been leaked.

In the clip now doing rounds, Smokin Wanjala’s young son is seen issuing threats to a woman believed to be in charge of the management office of the building he lives in.

It is said that Mr Wanjala has been keeping his neighbours up all night at Westpoint Suites in Madaraka where residents say he hosts frequent parties.

His never-ending nuisance has on multiple occasions landed him on the wrong side of the law and has been severally arrested by officers from the Langata Police Station.

One of our sources told us that the young Wanjala always gets released under unclear circumstances.

The last time it happened, he got back and threatened neighbours with dire consequences.

Victor was a biker on his way home. The NTSA director was overlapping, overspeeding meters away from a junction, came onto Victor’s path, colliding with him at a speed that threw him over the car and caused extensive body injuries.
My brother always rode with a GoPro camera mounted on his helmet… it mysteriously disappeared immediately after the accident.

Despite causing an accident through such dangerous driving at such a busy time on that road, no breathalyzer test was administered on Mr. Ngugi by the police that night.

Are NTSA employees required to abide by the highway code like other motorists and road users?
Are my taxes being used to pay the salary of a person who killed my brother?

Whenever a person chooses to be a motorcyclist or cyclist in this country, their family has to live in constant fear and worry for their lives.. if the road safety authorities did their job this wouldn’t happen

Mr Ngugi’s recklessness has caused my family untold grief. He has shown no remorse! Should a parent bury their youngest son because of such acts?

Victor was only 31, a young man at his prime.. he was a champion for road safety but he paid the ultimate price.
He didn’t deserve this.

A one-time renowned social media personality has exposed newly appointed CNN Nairobi correspondent Larry Madowo as a jealous chap who once tried to get him sacked from his workplace.

Through a series of Twitter posts, radio producer Joe Muchiri revealed how a few years back Madowo wrote an e-mail to his former employers at Capital FM, advising them to fire him over claims that a person like him did not deserve to work at the station.

According to Joe Muchiri, the former NTV reporter was trying to get back at him because he had made fun of him on social media.

Luckily for him, his manager at Capital FM was not too quick to show him the door and offered him the benefit of the doubt before making the decision to let him stay.

Joe Muchiri was speaking in response to questions he has been receiving on why he did not take part as Kenyans recently congratulated Madowo for his new job.

“You guys know the “nice reporter” Joe knows the asshole that he is. Mans sent an email to my former employee asking them to fire me. “ read part of his tweet.

“I can never respect anyone who tries to take bread from someone for petty reasons,” he added.

This was in a case in which blogger Cyprian Nyakundi sued him for defamation.

In the case, blogger Cyprian Nyakundi took issue with him writing an article in his blog that he claimed disparaged his character.

The article: “Of broke ‘bigwigs,’ social media ‘influencers’ and sh50m tweets” in which he defamed bloggers Cyprian Nyakundi and Xtian Dela.

A group of Somali Cartels has declared war on the Kenya Revenue Authority because they are very unhappy with the authority’s war on tax evaders that have been robbing taxpayers billions per year.

The group of Somali traders is now sponsoring some individuals to smear the authority in order to blackmail them into submitting to their tax-evasion tendencies.

The proxy group is now demanding that some two KRA officials take full responsibility for doing their jobs over what they term as delays and inconveniences caused by the adoption of ISO intelligence and strategic operations

In 2019, The Kenya Revenue Authority appointed two commissioners and a deputy commissioner in charge of tax compliance. While making the appointments, CG Githii Mburu added that KRA was focused on building trust through facilitation, so as to foster compliance with the existing tax and customs legislation.

It all seems some Somali businessmen read cartels, have been pushed to the corner, and want the ISO to go slow on them blaming delays as the department undertakes a rigorous process to trap tax evaders.

A few years ago, these Somali businessmen had mastered the shipping system to Kenya and knew how to evade tax by bribing the right people in KRA, KEBS, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Ports Authority and the likes and now are resistant to change.

Somali’s import their stuff duty-free. They get their goods into Kenya using select routes. They then sell slightly cheaper than the Indians or the Kikuyu’s and have been driving them out of business. Not because of anything else, just not paying tax. If they paid taxes like other Kenyans, do you think they’d be awash with cash, buying every property like there’s no tomorrow?

A few weeks ago, we talked about how some Somali businessmen manipulate our policy-makers, where they use their pooled resources to bribe Government officials to sing to their tune. They are the ones who used to bribe NTSA officials to mount roadblocks around Nairobi CBD which ended up killing the nightlife of the city.

So now, pubs and recreational facilities which were built by locals are now being turned into Somali coffee shops, and you’re all acting okay with it?

The Kenyan creative economy is under foreign attack

At the onset of Covid 19 Pandemic, the worst pandemic has visited Kenya’s thriving Creative economy. Kenya’s leading foreign creative agency, WPP SCANGROUP downsized many employees, The remaining few Kenyans have suffered mental breakdowns, others coerced to resign depriving many Kenyan families of their breadwinners.

Sacking staff due to covid was an excuse to engage foreign workers to do what Kenyan workers can do. This is against the Immigration Laws.

They have managed to deplete 90% of Kenya’s top creative staff and replaced them with an Indian Company called “Mystic monks” – a Delhi based company, who are now mysteriously handling iconic Kenyan brands such as Safaricom, KRA, KCB and EABL jobs amongst others.

This explains why Safaricom performed poorly against the complaints on Home Fibre and Mpesa Bill Manager for Businesses.

It is worth noting and painful that ScanGroup charging the hefty fee in the account of creative duties and paying to other countries at the expense of Kenyans. This not only deprives Kenyans of an opportunity to pay taxes due to job loss, and destruction of dreams of young Kenyan creatives but more painfully unfairly making other foreigners pay tax to their economies.

It is worth noting and painful that Government agencies such as KRA, which exists through the painful tax-paying Kenyans are made to employ foreign consultants such as the mysterious “Mystic Monk” based in India amongst others.

The leadership of ScanGroup have been working in Kenya in blatant disregard of Kenya’s immigration policy (SECTION 34 of the year 2012) that states no work permit should be renewed for more than 5 years. They have fraudulently retained foreigners over decades for jobs Kenyans are qualified to successfully undertake.

It is noteworthy that WPP ScanGroup unearthed these serious malpractices and the report never made public since they evicted the founding CEO Bharat Thakrar.

Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai is under by Kenyans on social media to explain why public resources are being allocated to people like Lucy Natasha. 

Several Kenyans on social media condemned Reverend Lucy Natasha, the lead preacher of Latter Glory Ministries after she shared a video of herself going somewhere with a heavy, armed uniformed security detail comprising the National Police Service vehicles. 

In the video, police are seen opening her car’s vehicle and escorting her. 

In the recent past, some Kenyans have accused the Rev of harassing motorists with her traffic laws, despite not having clearance. 

In 2019, A new directive regarding special road privileges for Kenyan VIPs was issued by the Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai, who cleared just four Cabinet Secretaries (CSs).

Their respective Principal Secretaries (PSs) were also mentioned as the only elite group of individuals allowed to flout regular traffic regulations.

The four were identified as, CS for Defence, CS Interior and Coordination of National Government, CS Finance,  and CS Foreign Affairs. 

All the other CSs were warned that their drivers would be arrested and charged if caught in violation of traffic regulations.
