Hi Nyakundi,
A man by the name Evans Machuki Morang’a (who has since been buried) was killed on Sunday 23rd June, 2019 at Magena Market, Bombaba Location in broad daylight, at noon at a notorious drinking den.
His killers are yet to be apprehended.
Of concern was the area Acting Chief, Madam Jane’s actions that have left many wondering what interest she had in the said murder.
Her being the area chief she was apparently alerted by the killers immediately they killed the man; she rushed to the crime scene to commence a major cover up of the issue and started claiming that the man was not killed at that place (and that if anything, the man died due to pneumonia) despite there being blood all over the place where he was killed.
She had advised the killers to burn the cloths/sheets they used to wipe the blood in order to conceal the evidence.
A Postmortem was conducted on the body of the deceased on 24th June, 2019 at Nyamache Level 4 Hospital and it was clear that the man was hit with a blunt object from behind (head) and strangled. The postmortem exercise was supervised by Mr. Masibo, Officer based at Magena Police Post and Conducted by Dr. Onsombi.
Three weeks later, no police officer nor area administrator has visited the home of the deceased or the crime scene to piece together any evidence that could help nab the culprits.
I am also reliably informed that the acting chief mentioned earlier is involved in the production and sale of the illicit brew in the area and that each seller of the brew has to pay a thousand Kshs. 1000/- shillings to a Chama every day in her name.
