The National Land Commission has revoked an allotment of 1.1acre of land within the Public Service Club within the Upperhill surburb of Nairobi, linked to a Kenyatta-era figure. The land granted to Cannibex Limited associated with the family of Geoffrey Karekia Kariithi was curved out from The Public Service Club which sits on an 18.95-acre piece of land.

The man to watch in the next few days is former Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) Chairman Kibuga Kariithi, who is a business partner of the Kenyatta family and oversight director of Media Max Limited.

Like the Gethi family whose sons recently begun development on their land along Rosslyn with the Rosslyn Riviera Mall, the Kareithi family also announced in 2014 that their farm Karunguru in Kiambu County would be developed into a controlled development/golf estate.

Kibuga is said to have the ear of Uhuru’s brother Muhoro Kenyatta who runs the vast family estate with the help of white partners and senior managers who are largely employed on the basis of close ties and bonds forged from school days at St. Mary’s.

Businessman Jacob Juma has proposed severally on Twitter that assets of the Kenyatta family should be nationalised as they have largely been built using stolen taxpayers money, in case of a revolution in similar fashion to how Gadaffi’s companies operating under the Libya Africa Investment Company (LAICO) were nationalised.

Since Uhuru’s ascension into presidency, three families on the post-colonial era, second-generation wealth and St. Mary’s alumni have announced plans on embarking on massive real-estate developments, including the Kenyatta Family themselves with Sukari City, the Gethi family with the Rosslyn Riviera and the Kareithi family with the Karunguru Golf Estate.

Could this all be a random coincidence?

Mohammed Swazuri is now expecting backlash for doing his job and saving taxpayers from a fraudulent land allocation, as Uhuru’s brother Muhoho is expected to flex his muscles and step in. Executive interference in the mandate of constitutional bodies has been the biggest impediment of efficient service delivery by Government since Uhuru got into office.
