Letters To The Editor: Looting At National Bank Continues

Hello Cyprian.

I am among the 26 people forced to retire in June 2015. I have served the National Bank of Kenya for over 25 years. I was sent forcefully retired with almost nothing.

The one-third lump sum pension is what I used to clear bank loans which had been projected to be repaid within the normal retirement age of 60. In the same group different people were given a different rebate on loans ranging between 10 – 40%. No criteria was used to send us home, we were just hand-picked.

Though the case is in court I feel you should continue to expose the rot before the bank collapses. The pay roll was out sourced to hide salary disparities. National Bank of Kenya is for sure rotten. Even tea is out sourced they pay more than before. Whose company makes tea? Whose company does valuation of properties, whose law firms are on the panel?

Please write more and more to save the bank.

Hello Cyprian,

Thanks for doing that article on National Bank of Kenya. I am a victim of (Ahmed) Munir’s incompetence since his entry into the bank. My employment was terminated with for no reason and the bank claimed I had not performed in a department that I had set up.

The most bizarre occurrence is that I set up the department that is running up to date, trained the manager in charge and also trained the staff who are performing and yet I was not a performer.

Any way we are in court and I believe Munir’s days are numbered and my God will fight for me especially because I was pregnant then when I received my termination letter. At least someone has now gone vocal on what has been happening in the bank and now the senior officials looting and bringing down the bank are being exposed and put to shame.
