Edwin Dande, Cytonn CEO

This site has been serializing the Cytonn Investments Ponzi scheme and questioning their PR style of doing stuff. Even as we keep doing this, they are not coming up with responses but engaging in more PR to lie to their customers.

There is this Cytonn Towers fiasco where NEMA was pocketed by Cytonn for approval and something must be done about it. The fiasco, still ongoing and a matter that will be in courts has been blacked out by all media houses because they get advertisements revenue from Cytonn.

The CEO’s arrogance is the one thing that stands out, of course apart from his penchant for make-up. After their plans to construct a 30 storey high-rise building at the heart of Kilimani were resisted by the residents, the CEO went on a ranting about on social media, instead of addressing the grievous issues raised, he fulminates that:-

“So I get this nasty letter (https://bit.ly/2O7XW7v) from Cavina School posted in social media, accusing Cytonn Investments of ‘pursuit of profits’ and ‘corporate greed’ because we want to build the highest tower in Kilimani. I have been scratching my head, whether the words aptly refer more to Cytonn or Cavina? How else do you describe a preparatory school charging 700k per year per toddler, jamming hundreds of them without even a playing field? I am no Early Childhood Education expert, but one can actually operate a school with over 300 kids without even a playing field? Might as well call it Cavina Investments then. Tuheshimiane, kila mtu afanye biashara zake quietly and in peace.”

To further flex his pomposity, Edwin Dande even stormed out of the Stakeholder-engagement forum at the glare of the Kilimani Residents Association.

The development is adjacent to the exclusive Cavina School which is owned by the Blomfield family.

Blomfield and other residents are opposed to the project claiming the area infrastructure cannot withstand such a development.

Blomfield had fired the first shot accusing Dande of being driven by profits at all costs but Dande hit back and implied that Blomfield was overcharging students in the school.

The Cytonn Towers development is being opposed by residents through the Kilimani Project Foundation.

“We have raised a number of issues and concerns on the proposed development including incompatible land use, traffic, utilities, health of Cavina (School) children during construction, privacy of children and neighbours during and after construction, urban heat island effect because of a building of such magnitude (this means increased local temperatures), stormwater drainage, urban greenery and security,” the executive director of Kilimani Project Foundation, Mr Constant Cap, says in one of the letters inviting residents to a meeting that was to take place on April 14 and which was to be attended by Cytonn Investments staff.

But say what?
