Four Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) employees were arrested on the 17th August over a Ksh 72 Million scandal, sources from the DCI have confirmed.

This is happening as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti confirmed that most fraud that happens within banks and Saccos is propagated by their own staff, KCB being the most hit due to weak leadership by Oigara and fraudulent managers.

The four arrested employees will be charged today and we will keep you updated on how the case goes. The looted funds were transferred from the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in smaller amounts to accounts domiciled with various banks in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret & Malindi.

Evidence gathered by DCI showed that 37 fictitious merchant companies were registered with KCB to facilitate the fraud through a fraudulent point of sale card transaction claims which were approved by the four suspects and money sent to the companies’ account as POS card settlements.

The funds were then shared through Mpesa among the following four suspects who are employees of the same bank. The employees are Mr.Benson Mwai Karugu, Mr.Edmund Kirturi Mutua, Mr.Evans Kenda Kiplagat and Mr.Macdonald Mochama Mongwe.

This is pure case of money laundering where KCB and their CEO Joshua Oigara is good at. Joshua Oigara, the Kenya Commercial Bank CEO has been severally linked to South Sudan Money Laundering and also the NYS money laundering since the Ngiritas laundered their proceeds of crime through the bank. Joshua Oigara never flagged the transactions, according to our sources from the Central Bank Of Kenya.

In March this year, a number of KCB customers raised concern over un-explained cash deductions on their bank accounts, even as the lender moved to assure clients that their money was safe.

KCB Group customers complained that their account balances were incorrect, with most reporting suspicious debit transactions that in some instances wiped out their bank balances leaving others in a negative position.

Panicked customers even took to social media to voice their complaints.

The bank, in a statement, insisted that the customers’ cash was safe without explaining why the dubious transactions were taking place or the remedial actions it had taken. Now the customers have the answers to what that happened.

The problem with KCB is top leadership and the grand heists happening there will affect many innocent Kenyans if something is not done.
