A source who reached out to this blog on Sunday, 19 February, has shared a harrowing experience of being allegedly followed by agents from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who have been disturbing the his neighbourhood in Kasarani’s Hunters area by setting off car alarms at any time of the day and night.
The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, had previously written anonymous emails about the issue.
He revealed that he was working on the National Land Information Management System Project financed by the Ministry of Lands but under the management of NIS in a company called Konza Silicon Company Limited when he started experiencing intimidation and threats from NIS agents in November 2020.
The situation worsened in 2021 when the agents allegedly paid people living in apartments above the source to bang on their ceiling (the floor of the agents’ target).
The source claims he has since moved apartments more than three times to escape the constant disturbance, but the agents keep following him.
He reported the issue to a police post in Kasarani, but the caretaker of the apartment refused to provide the names and apartment numbers of the tenants living above the source.
The source believes that the NIS agents are behind the disturbance as they had previously warned the source to cooperate or face consequences.
Despite the source’s refusal to continue working on the project, the agents continued to follow and threaten the source.
The source eventually quit his job at the Ministry of ICT in January 2023 but is still experiencing the same issue.
He says the agents have even started following the him to his new workplace at Roasters Thika Road.
The cars the agents have used to follow the source include KCZ 787T Silver demio (most persistent), KAV 974Y Black Subaru Forester, KBP 956D White Toyota Corolla, and KAY 919T White Subaru Forester.
Below is the chilling narration by the source.
