Trouble is brewing at Pharmaplus Pharmacy, a health, beauty, and lifestyle drugstore with multiple outlets across the country.
Workers at the firm’s main office at Aryan Center, Off Mombasa Road, Behind Subaru Kenya, Block 19, Nairobi, have expressed a voice of distress over the increasing lack of ethics from those in charge of management.
Writing to this blog on Wednesday, 14th of September, one staffer categorically fingered Vincent Marinai, Emmah Kisang, and Martha Judy as some of the high ranking individuals misusing their power by abusing workers.
The trio is notorious for verbally sacking employees without following the set out legal and ethical practices.
Complaints have also been raised regarding unfriendly working hours.
They compel hired personnel to show up 6 days a week, with shifts as long as 12 hours.
Intimidation and constant threats are the order of the day.
Anyone that tries to stand up for their rights is instantly cut down to size.
The confrontations often end up as physical altercations, where helpless victims face assault from their bosses.
“Hi, Nyakundi,
There is trouble At Pharmaplus Pharmacy, Nairobi.
Abuse of staff and power by Vincent Marinai, Emmah Kisang, and Martha Judy will surface.
Pharmaplus fires hospital staff verbally without following any legal ethical procedures, such as giving them a notice or termination letters.
He has been doing this since the beginning of the company.
Most of the staff are afraid to talk because there is nothing they can do to him since he is friends with a lot of people in high places, including the police force that can cover for him.
Staff are being assaulted, and they will go nowhere if they fire them.
Others are even beaten.
The working hours include Monday to Saturday — 7:30 pm to 8 pm daily and when there is night shift, staff work overnight without relaxing.
The company makes millions and they pay staff little salary after being deducted a lot of money from expired drugs.
Kindly call upon the Ministry of Labour and lawyers to help settle employment matters at this facility.
KRA also should also chip in, the company imports products from abroad and Uganda without paying taxes.
Thank you so much for being there for the less privileged in this society,” says the source.
