Staff at Peter Munga-owned Equatorial Nut Processors have been paid after an exposé by this blog.
“Equatorial Nuts paid its employees after your exposé. Been a lot of heat since you exposed the truth. But I can’t thank you enough for not exposing my identity of like other bloggers. I’m indebted to your professionalism. Thank you again!”, an anonymous person wrote.
Below was the story:
Hello Nyakundi,
I’m not sure if this will be relevant on your platform but I’ll still bring it forward regardless.
Equatorial Nuts Processors (Murang’a & Maragua) haven’t paid it’s employees for two months now. It’s the third month now since the payroll is closed on 21st of each month.
It’s not clear whether billionaire Munga has been funding Raila with the employees’ and suppliers’ money but rumours have it that’s what is happening.
You can confirm if it’s true from independent sources. But as I write this (24th April 2022) no one has been paid yet.
Landlord are evicting tenants who work in ENP because of late rent. In fact, no landlord in Maragua town can newly accommodate an ENP employee.
Surprisingly enough, ENP pays it’s employees a basic salary of Ksh10,000 which to they expect to last for three months.

You can verify this with any random person you’d know in Maragua town. The employees are a laughing stock having to go work in darkness and going back home in darkness for peanuts.
The company(Fortified Foods Division) is currently doing orders for The Ministry of Education, World Food Programme(WFP) , ICRC, KEMSA, and many other orders for county governments but still pays employees peanuts.
The Macadamia Division is exporting dozens of containers while The Retail section sell Equatorial Nuts in almost every supermarket in Kenya. Cashew Nuts factory is also doing good.
The CEO, Dr Moses Mwangi is also a Murang’a gubernatorial candidate.
