Just three months after the National Police Service received 100 brand-new Scorpio pickup trucks from Mahindra Group, the public has already begun raising questions over the quality of the vehicles.

One concerned Kenyan who reached out to cnyakundi.com has worryingly noted how some of the units have been easily and frequently breaking down while on duty.

An insider who works with the Asian dealer admitted that one of the most common problems affecting the Scorpio model is its poor clutch system which is proving to be a menace.

Speaking in confidentiality, the source further expressed strong doubts over the vehicle’s lifespan.

“Hello Cyprian, I saw your post and would want to share some photos of the Mkebe Mahindra.

Hii gari ikikufa clutch you’re doomed you will have to tow it with a recovery flatbed to the dealer.

I don’t see these units lasting two years with the police.

Hide my identity, I work for the dealer,” reads the message.

The handover fleet to the National Police Service was held at the Simba Corp headquarters, along Mombasa Road, Nairobi.

With the introduction of Mahindra-made vehicles, the manufacturer became the first in Kenya to lease vehicles to government service.
