A victim has accused a leading security firm based in Mombasa County of blatantly failing to recompense her for an injury caused by one of their employees.
Through a message forwarded to our news desk, the source revealed sometime in August 2021, a negligent askari from Texas Alarms Limited accidentally slashed part of her leg in broad daylight.
Following the unfortunate incident, she took it upon herself to seek medical attention.
After receiving treatment for the next few weeks, she requested the top-rated company for some kind of reparation for the painful ordeal.
The 71-year-old did not demand much.
She did not even want the rogue security guard to be sacked; all she needed was the Sh15,000 hospital bill to be handled.
But to her surprise, Texas Alarms Limited constantly came up with all kinds of excuses and manipulative manoeuvers to persuade her to drop the claim.
When their efforts failed to bear fruits, they eventually cut out all communication with the victim.
Below is her full account of events.
“Hi, I have been treated badly by Texas security in Mombasa and all they have done for the last almost 7 months is bounce me back and forth between Nairobi and Mombasa.
I was damaged by one of their guards in the course of his duties which he was doing negligently.
After seeking medical attention over the next few weeks I asked them just to pay the medical bill.
It amounted to around 15 thousand shillings but you’d think I was asking them for 15 million shillings.
I did not ask for transport costs or compensation for the pain and suffering.
That is the last time that they would communicate with me willingly.
So here we are almost seven months later and I’m still being thrown between offices or being totally ignored.
I am a 71-year-old woman who was just going about my day when I got my leg slashed by their askari.
I told them I didn’t want him sacked, I just needed the bill paid.
Texas came up with all kinds of excuses and manipulative manoeuvers to get me to drop the claim.
I have more details and phone numbers of the people involved and even a photograph of the askari who perpetrated the accident.
I also have my prime witness who was standing next to me when this happened.
Here below is the damage that occurred after the blood had been cleared away.
Indeed they are very lucky because I also have a blood problem and if it’d been any deeper it would have been a hospital stay for sure,” she writes.
