A senior Centum Managing Director going by the name Samuel Kariuki quit last week due to fraud allegations according to sources that are well versed with the matter. It is not clear if he quit voluntarily or he was forced to.
Mr Samuel Kariuki has also been linked to sexual harassment within the company and there is a chain of ladies that have accused him of sexually harassing them with some losing their jobs after refusing to open their legs to the ever thirsty bull that would jump to any skirt.
A female staff that spoke anonymously with cnyakundi.com said that most ladies sexually harassed were silenced with money after the sexual escapades which most couldn’t resist for fear of losing their jobs.
According to a source familiar with the matter, investigations revealed that Samuel Kariuki was linked to a company called Raisin prompt and was trying to defraud Centum of KES 300M. The Ceo of Raisin is a close friend to Samuel Kariuki and also a former employee of the Group raising worries that he may also have done a lot of insider fraud within the company.
Of all these scams, it seems that it is the Raisin saga that sent the former high flying executive because it was pure fraud that was being done behind the back of Centum and angered everyone from the board to other managers.
According to Kenyan media news cuttings, the Raisin deal was signed by Sam Kariuki without the knowledge of anyone and the contract as shared below from Kenyan media publications was fake as it is not even stamped and sealed, according to the law.
Our efforts to get a comment from Centum were unsuccessful but a source within told us Centum could not comment on the contract because they were not aware of it and only Sam Kariuki was aware of it and Centum was not aware of it. The source also informed us that it was something done by a subsidiary and it beats logic as to how they could comment on that.
WPP ScanGroup CEO Bharat Thakrar under fire for sexual harassment, embezzlement
Our source also confirmed to us that he is accused of framing two other employees who later lost their jobs late last year. Our source confided to us that he used to feed them with intentionally misleading information for their Internal Audit Reports, which led them to lose trust with the management, hence losing their job with attempts to place his guys there in order to control the affairs of the company, something that was thwarted.
Samuel Kariuki had also been accused of backbiting and fighting the company by sponsoring social media hit campaigns against the company. At one point, a social media influencer who had been given Ksh. 10,000 to sponsor a campaign against the company that accused him of not paying the debt that saw the influencer face the wrath of other influencers he had hired to help him push the narrative. Under siege, the influencers threatened to spill the beans forcing Samuel Kariuki to pay them two times the agreed amount.
The fake contract is shared below
