Hours after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based in Mombasa sent out a notice warning revellers against a notorious drink-spiking gang in the coastal county, party freaks in Nairobi have also been warned to stay prudently watchful of the predatory ladies who keep devising new methods of their evil trade.

Yes, you read that right.

Even worse, nowadays you don’t have to be caught up somewhere in those dingy joints across dark corridors of town for you to fall victim to the cash-motivated vultures.

As it appears, the dreaded “Mchele Gang” has also gradually infiltrated high-end nightclubs and much more respected entertainment joints within the city where returns are often more than double the risk due to the class of clientele.

In this regard, an interesting image that recently went viral on Monday, 7th March 2022, has elicited a mixture of reactions among residents.

The thought-provoking photo captured at the upscale and cosy 40Forty Lounge shows a group of six raunchy slay queens circled around one insufficiently served table.

Apart from the two bottles of Gilbeys Gin (one empty) that seemed to amuse netizens, keen-eyed tweeps also took notice of the rather unconventional choice to place their jackets, bags and other weird-looking belongings under the table.

According to experienced patrons, that is one obvious red flag to look out for when in the presence of such dangerous hoodlums.

“Ogopa sana women huficha hoods zao chini ya meza. Ni maveteran wa wizi. Out of experience,” one netizen wrote.

“Sasa shopping ya supper ni kitu ya kuficha chini ya meza?” another added.

“Is your establishment a home for the elderly or a nursing home?” asked a tweep.

The slay queens are said to have an eye for national government employees, senior policemen, and bankers.

Working in sophisticated coordination, they spike their victim’s drinks, rob them of all valuable gadgets and then send messages asking for money from unsuspecting individuals in the contacts list.
