Ruiru-based NGO Kenya Good Neighbors is accused of racism.
The Kenya staff at the NGO say the mistreatment stinks to high heaven and is perpetrated by expatriates who lie to the immigration department about their work in Kenya.

Hi Cyprian,
I read the Article about Racism at British Council and could relate so much to the similar frustrations we Kenyans are experiencing in one so called International Company, Kenya Good Neighbors.
Here, expats are given intern work permits and end up being our bosses.
We do not think,
None of our opinions matters,
We just follow instructions.
We even have DoCI (Document of Confidential Information) and certain privileges’ for the expats!
These expats are not even professionally trained and skilled to the positions they are being offered internally.
Kenya Good Neighbors was founded in December 1995. It was the first field office in Africa for international relief and development programs including vocational training at Jirani Centre, health clinic, community dam construction, school construction in the biggest slum area and remote area as well. We implement Community Development Projects by supporting the stable and self-sufficient development of a community through project focused on education, health, water and sanitation and income generation in 6 communities. Also we run advocacy programs to protect the human rights, especially of the child, and implement humanitarian projects for refugees with UNHCR. – Website
Here junior officers earn more salary than managers!
The expats packages are way beyond imagination. Anyone’s existence depends on just one single person, the country director!
This one person has also perfected the divide and rule policy amongst us Kenyans hence many are blinded to the injustices or they have just given up!
Our Kenyan representatives at the Board level are offered limited information for them to agree just to sign documents hence there is no overall oversight.
Please could you help voice out this to the world. The access to the organization money makes him untouchable and really looks down on us since we do not have the means.
