A staff member at Muhindi Mweusi Supermarket in Tassia, Nairobi has decided to break the silence over the slave like working conditions at that entity.
“Hello Nyakundi, help us expose this supermarket within Embakasi called MUHINDI MWEUSI…we work from 6am to 10pm. Then we are paid 10k,” he wrote.
Kenyans are not organized enough to demand equal rights and justice.
The 8-4-4 system made them dumb as to believe in stupid ideas such as respect even in times of oppression.
There’s a saying by Zora Neale Hurston that goes, ‘If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.’
Whoever put into Kenyan minds that things will get better without effort really messed this country.
CBC will make it worse.
14 hours of work is not even legitimate, what happened to the labour movement in this country?
These young Kenyans toil this much, working for someone who evades paying taxes since the Sh10,000 monthly salary is also paid through MPESA.
A bit of hood thing is that they pay for NHIF, but I doubt this supermarket remits the same to the health insurance fund.
It is high time those in Industrial Area etc wake up.
Your life was not supposed to be spent like a millipede in the floor of a dump forest.
