Machakos First lady Lilian Nganga on Sunday, 15 August 2021, announced that her long-term romantic relationship with Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua was over.
Through an Instagram post, Lilian revealed that she ended things with the politician.
Without diving into further details, she thanked God for their union and maintained she and Mutua will always be friends.
“Winds of change blew my way and 2 months ago I decided to end my long-term relationship with Dr. Alfred Mutua, we had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends.” Lilian wrote in part.
Responding to Lilian’s announcement, Governor Mutua also confirmed the end of the affair.
Through a social media post, he retaliated that they will always be “close friends” because she is “his number one fan.”
“Lillian and I have been a blessing to each other. Two months ago, we decided to slowly disengage. We are on amicable terms and remain very close as friends. We will continue to talk, meet and share ideas constantly,” he wrote.
Prior to the announcement of their breakup, the 36-year-old had become inactive on social media and for a while.
She was also not seen publicly with the governor.
As they keen-eyed observed, Lilian’s change in behaviour and lifestyle began drastically about six months ago when her husband Alred Mutua was hit by a damning infidelity scandal.
In the embedded story below that cnyakundi.com covered on February 2021, a lady who claimed to be a mistress of Mr Mutua came out to accuse the county boss of having impregnated and neglected her and their unborn child.
Through popular Kenyan blogger Edgar Obare’s populous Instagram account, the girl identified as “Daizy” spilt the beans to the public and alleged that when the governor received the news that she was pregnant, he requested her to terminate it.
The two had apparently met for some good time at Anuba Lounge in Nyali when the incident happened.

Mutua and Lillian have been together since 2011 but didn’t have any child although he has three other children from his first marriage.
Before meeting Lilian Nganga in 2011, the Governor was married to a Kamba-born Josephine Thitu Maundu for over 10 years.
This was before their marriage hit rock bottom in 2015 ending up in divorce.
