CAPTION: Megascope Limited CEO Richard Ngatia’s wife Diana

The wife to Megascope Healthcare Ltd CEO Richard Ngatia, who was pointed out as one of the key masterminds of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) heist in 2020, has quit social media.

We can now confirm that Diana Ngatia, as she is known to the public, made the decision to exit Instagram where she previously loved to show off her exuberant lifestyle to her thousands of followers.

From boring family TikToks with her husband and the kids, to tours of her posh home and house; Mrs Ngatia loved to display it all.

In one incidence which we highlighted last year, the not-yet-middle-aged lady who characteristically named herself “DumbBitchDiana” on the platform, posted a video showing off her costly Louis Vuitton designer handbags and hundreds of other expensive shoes and accessories in the background.

This was the same time her husband Mr Richard Ngatia was at the centre stage of investigations into the Sh7.8bn KEMSA scandal.

In what experts said was conceived like a criminal enterprise, a damming report revealed that Ngatia’s company Megascope Healthcare Ltd was part of the multi-billion rip-off.

According to documents tabled in parliament, since the pandemic broke out in early March 2020, the firm was awarded contracts worth over Sh1 billion.

Interestingly, during this period when Ngatia’s company was openly making a killing off fleecing the government, Diana continued to showcase her luxurious and glamorous lifestyle on the interwebs.

Could the intensification of investigations into KEMSA billionaires have scared the Ngatia’s into quitting social media? Maybe.

It is common knowledge that in the modern world, basic social engineering can harvest huge chunks of information online accounts of these fraudulent personalities like in the case of flamboyant Nigerian Instagram star “Hushpuppi”, where information extracted from social media aided the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in trailing his dirty money.

Hushpuppi’s  Instagram account, which was followed by 2.4 million people at the time, was filled with hundreds of pictures of him posing with luxury cars, designer clothes and private jets.

The posts helped FBI detectives confirm Hushpuppi’s true identity, his whereabouts, and to connect him to conversations discussing the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Even more interesting is she fled the platform just after parliament had ordered deeper investigations into the persons involved in the KEMSA heist.

With over Sh7.8bn funds misappropriated in the scam, Kenyans have over the months been subjected to the theatrics that goes against objectivity.

From ‘God led me to Kemsa’ to a passerby who won multi-million tenders.

These are some of the scheming conspiracies that the tenderpreneurs of the Kemsa scam have treated Kenyans to.

Investigations have uncovered evidence of tenders being allegedly given to politically connected individuals and businesses like Ngatia’s but little or no action is yet to be taken on any of the accomplices.
