A month after he was re-elected for an unopposed 5th term and a street named after him, Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli looks to have taken his celebrations down to the Coast, where sources privy to cnyakundi.com have disclosed that the workers’ boss made it official to a yet-to-be-identified young slay-queen.
According to the reports now doing rounds on social media on the eve of the veteran’s 72nd birthday, Mr Atwoli, who was first elected to the helm of COTU in 2001, “quietly” got married to a 21-year-old Muslim girl over the weekend, making her wife number four.
This was confirmed by local TV personality Jamila Mbugua through her Twitter page.
She was responding to another tweet by city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi who had wished his frenemy Atwoli a happy birthday.
The news does not really come as much of a surprise given that the vocal trade unionist is known to love them young and fresh.
In 2018, he made headlines when he confirmed his marriage to 34-year-old celebrity Swahili news anchor Mary Kilobi as his third wife.
When asked, Kilobi confirmed that she is happily married to Atwoli with whom she stays at his residence in Kajiado.
However, with the latest addition, her days at the palatial state-of-the-art mansion in Ildamat might be numbered.
In the same year, an audio conversation was leaked online the workers’ boss was heard engaging his 2nd wife Rosalinda Wanyonyi over some disagreements.
Atwoli was heard telling her to leave their home if she decides to go ahead and run for an elective seat.
The wife accused Atwoli of abandoning their children and leaving her the responsibility to take care of them.
Atwoli denied the allegations.
