Activist Mutemi Wa Kiama has thanked comrades for firmly standing with him as he faces persecution over his strong stands against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s catastrophic regime.

In a video that appeared on social media on Wednesday, Mutemi reassured his friends and supporters that he is doing okay, although he had gone close to 24 hours without receiving any meal.

But he added that despite all the tribulations he is going through, he still remains inspired by the fact that Kenyans have stood their ground in ensuring their voice is heard.

“I want to thank everyone for the solidarity, I’m okay but I’m hungry though; I didn’t have lunch yesterday and I didn’t have dinner or supper, But I’m so inspired by the fact that Kenyans are organizing themselves. I know that the hotel and hospitality industry, entertainment DJs are organizing protests. I think it’s high time Kenyans said enough is enough. And we can not allow ourselves to be prisoners of conscience. Tulitoka wakati wa political prisoners; although right now I am a political prisoner,” he says in the clip.

He was speaking from the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi where he was waiting to be officially charged.

Mutemi wa Kiama arrested on Tuesday evening with flimsy charges of purportedly making a viral notice with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s face warning the world against entering into loan agreements with him on behalf of the country.
