Benson Ndung’u, Chief Executive Officer of KPMG East Africa

After this site exposed PwC and KRA, a staff of KPMG, an audit firm has come forth to share the same predicament.

However, KPMGs is very sad as the bosses stay at home but force staff to come to work, exposing themselves to Covid-19.

Hey Nyakundi,

Keep my identity anonymous. Please burst KPMG kenya, it just forced its employees to continue working like it’s business as usual.. These private auditing companies have very greedy partners who demand their staff to keep working hence endangering lives of their families while they themselves are quarantined at home. It’s so unreasonable of them, yet it is possible to work from home.

Another staff member independently supported the above by stating the following:

I have seen the piece you have written about PWC. It’s still business as usual for KPMG staff while the management is working from home. The auditors are required to go to client’s offices which puts them at risk of acquiring the covid19 virus. We have a couple of auditors who jetted back from outside country engagements without having self-quarantined for the required 2 weeks and they are already back at work.

KRA Yet To Quarantine

For these firms, it is possible ot work from home.

Come to think of it, hasn’t there been emergency mitigation measures in all firms in Kenya written so well in their Human Resources Manuals that should be in play at this point in time?

All firms before the Covid19 pandemic were boasting about their preparedness, yet when the disease hit, everyone is taking about falling into hard economic times.

KPMG, if your staff stay at home, you reduce the chances of worsening the pandemic conditions in Kenya and giving our medical personnel time to do away with the virus. Same for KRA, and PwC, etc

Shut down those offices, profit before humanity has never been a great thing.

Another staff of KPMG wrote about the bad work environment at the firm as follows:

I would like you to expose KPMG Kenya for treating its employees inhumanly. The audit department currently works from Monday through Sunday starting morning hours all the way to midnight almost every single day. They are not compensated for this extra hours they put in and it has taken a toll on a couple of employee’s health leading to mental breakdown, hbp and other pressure /stress related ailments.
