Professor Gitahi Kiama, the University of Nairobi don that was appointed to take over from corrupt former VC Peter M.F. Mbithi has said he is going nowhere after his appointment was revoked by the Education CS Prof George Magoha.
‘For the avoidance of doubt, my appointment as the lawfully and validly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi still subsists. As such, I continue in diligent service as your Vice-Chancellor and remain available to you all for guidance and direction’, part of the letter he wrote states.
Prof Kiama who has only served for less than two weeks was sacked together with the UoN Council led by Dr. Julia Ojiambo.
The selection process for the appointment of Prof Kiama has been reported by us to have been marred by irregularities and dishonesty.
Between VC Peter M.F. Mbithi and Gitahi Kiama, Professor Isaac Mbeche had acted as VC since July 1, 2019 whn VC Mbithi left.
