The 29th witness in the murder case of former Kabete Member of Parliament George Muchai today made his submissions in court, explaining how he was robbed a gun that was later used to kill Muchai.
Appearing before Judge Roseline Oganyo, Patrick Mureimi, a serving police officer, explained in detail how he was accosted by a gang of three members while on duty when they forcefully took his gun, a G3 6927317, and his phone.
‘‘I was on duty giving security to Orange Telkom officials, I heard a bang on our vehicle, then three men attacked me from behind grabbed my gun and ordered me together with the officials to lie down, they robbed us and disappeared,’’ Mureimi told court.
During the cross examination by the defense lawyers, the witness, however, failed to show how the the 7 suspects are related with the robbery incident that led him with no gun.
The suspects include Margaret Njeri Wachuiri, Raphael Kimani Gachii alias “Kim Butcher”, Kimani Anyonyi alias “Musti” , Stephen Asiliva Lipapo alias “Chokore” , Erick Muyera Isabwa alias “chairman” , Jane Wanjiru Kamau alias “Shiro” and Simon Wambugu Gichamba, who have all denied murder charges.
The case is set to resume on 20th of January.
