Hello Cyprian,
Kindly address this.
There is a group of young healthy men and mark my words well-dressed men not chokoras. along Harry Thuku – Chiromo and museum junction who snatch valuables from passersby and vehicles in traffic.
I was a victim of the same on 21/10/2019. I lost my office line and personal lines and as well as my cellphones too.
Reporting at the Central police station alone takes ages as every officer (not in uniform) comes to record their own occurrences without bothering the long queues of victims on line. On the particular day I was robbed, there was police no. 80037 on duty that night.
The shouting and ridicule by the police are wanting, for instance, on the same day; a young (seemed like a campus student) lady came crying and without even asking what was the problem the tall dark young police officer on the duty that evening concluded that’s just nothing but phone loss case, and laughed over it and the lady left still crying, what seemed like some fights.
From 6p.m. I left the station at 9:30 p.m.
I noticed that it takes around 45 minutes to serve a single client which can normally take at least 10-15 minutes to write the Occurrence Book (OB).
On my lost valuable, the thieves picked calls on my phone till the next day 7:59a.m. in the morning when they switched it off. A case that could have been handled and culprits brought to book the same day is still pending.
My worries that really make me write to you is around that area is a police less than 100m away,
Hotel boulevard is a posh restaurant where the thieves hide from behind along the river, near the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) station; one of the big media house in Kenya. Next is the International UON student’s hostels that possess a great danger to them plus a number of dignitaries who dine and sleep in the nearby hotels.
What are the measures the OCPD of Central Police station taking to curb this menace?
His officers further are not sure whether it’s their territory or parklands’s.
How many lives or valuables should people loose so that it will look serious thus dealt with. Surprisingly, the security officers around the area say it’s a bad spot, but the police never seem to care or rather they claim no one has reported on the same which is a big lie.
Request can they have the occurrence books for their internal use and another for mwananchi.
Other than taking money from wananchi the muggers should be caught and pay them handsomely.
One source of income to them.
Nowadays to my conclusion it’s saver walking along Kirinyaga road than in posh areas like Chiromo, Museum, Harry Thuku and even Westlands stage areas.
