Today, the Twitter hashtag #KenyaUnderRuto trended for the better part of the day, cementing the narrative that Ruto is the devil incarnate.
This is among the many hashtags that have been run against the deputy president by Cambridge Analytica machineries, the same company Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta hired to do the dirty work for him.
According to the Washington Post, The company mined Kenyan voters’ data to help President Uhuru Kenyatta win disputed elections. Over two presidential election cycles, it presided over some of the darkest and most vicious campaigns Kenya has ever seen.

Cambridge Analytica confirmed its involvement to an undercover reporter for Britain’s Channel 4, which released an exposé on Monday. Executives were taped saying that they ran “just about every element” of Kenyatta’s campaign in 2013 and 2017, including rebranding his party twice and writing the campaign’s manifesto and speeches. The firm also did “two rounds of 50,000 surveys.”
The same company that helped DP Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta stay in power is now flipping the script against the deputy president.
It is interesting that they are using the same narratives they used against Raila Odinga.

Sadly, the deputy president, with his massive resources can’t connect the dots, depending on and using “Spent Cartridge” Bloggers has further tainted his image. Most of these bloggers think helping him is all about following him into rallies and even toilets and streaming. They don’t understand and lack the strategy to sell the DP as a serious presidential contender.
