The Story of Power producer IBER AFRICA

Iber Africa Power (EA) Limited is undergoing restructuring and will retrench 25 staff members.

According to our source, the firm has already sent a notice of intention to KEWATU ~ the employee union notifying them that they will retrench staff on their second phase.

‘In the year 2016, they did the first phase which saw 15 staff go home. Now in the sedcond phase, they are planning to lay off 25. This is a big number’, said the source

The company had a total of 100 employees but that will be reduced to 25 at end year.

The reason the firm is giving for retrenchment is that the ‘government has not renewed the plant contract that ends on 26th August 2019’.

IBER Africa has a station on Lunga Lunga Road Donholm, Nairobi.
