The Self-styled NRM General Miguna Miguna has said that Uhuru Kenyatta desperately wanted to create a civil war between Luos and Kalenjins.
The Luo – Kalenjin feud especially at the border between Nandi and Kisumu counties is a long standing issue.
Data from National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) shows that the wrangles over the control of the border has often led to ethnic clashes.
By arresting Kalenjin politicians and charging them in Kisumu, Miguna says is tantamount to opening old wounds and festering violence.
He advised that when Kalenjin politicians are arrested they be charged in Kiambu. Of course Miguna is right on one aspect of the law which states that ‘one should be charged where he has been arrested’. This is so as to uphold the law that stated ‘you must be brought to court within twenty-four hours after being arrested’.
These days, there are courts everywhere; therefore taking a suspect to a different location is just too colonial, British and brutish. It reeks of intimidation.
Below: Miguna’s words
Despot Uhuru Kenyatta desperately wants to create a civil war between Luos and Kalenjins by arresting Kalenjin politicians in Eldoret or Kericho and charging them in Kisumu. Let Uhuru charge them in Kiambu or Gatundu. Patriots must #Resist Uhuru’s DIVIDE AND RULE strategy.
